re: Mark Ingram playing with third string

Good, hopefully we trade him to a team that isn't gonna run the same play with him once then switch backs.

Dude. Sean Payton is one of the greatest offensive minds in football. He loves versatile players. If Ingram had that to offer, the coaches and Brees would take advantage of it. His ability is limited. If he was good at other things, they would use him more often. No way in hell Sean Payton would not find a creative way to get Ingram touches.

Not to mention he played under one of the best run game coordinators/offensive line coaches in the NFL. Behind a pretty good O line, with a great passing game to open up the rush attack.

Ingram will still get significant carries just aid in wearing the defense down

I just don't see him wearing nobody down

yeah, the system is holding him back. The short, fat, slow RBs who can't break any tackles are a hot commodity in the league so we should be able to get at least a tee in return.

If Ingram showed as much passion at Saints games as he did in the picture below, he probably would be in a better position than he is. Image: http://gamedayr.wpengine.netdna-cdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/11/mark-ingram-alabama-crimson-tide-570x427.jpeg

Dude laugh all you but us real Saints fans hope fricking succeeds considering all we have invested in him. Fact is he was mainly a product of the system in college and that has shown his first two years.

Hopefully he can grow as a player and learn to create holes LIKE EVERY DECENT BACK IN THE LEAGUE DOES and run hard every play like Pierre Thomas.

Love how my my Thomas, an UDFA, is still putting entitled wanna bes like Ingram to shame.

Maybe if Ingram spent more time working instead of cheerleading and trying to relive college he could improve.

Op is right. Although he's running with 2nd team, there are 2 guys working in front of him.

Look, I'm hoping Ingram becomes one of the best running backs in the NFL. I truly am. BUT, he hasn't shown anything to make me think he's a decent NFL running back yet.

He's not fast,
He's not strong,
He's not good at finding or hitting the hole,
He's not elusive, and
He goes down way too easily.

Or it's because we run the same play everytime he's in the game, which makes it pretty easy to defend.

re: Mark Ingram playing with third string
MI has not looked like garbage or a 1st round pick. The good news is that he will not cost much going into his last year in 2014 so he's not going anywhere.
Unless he shows a skill set he hasn't shown before he may be looking for a new home in 2015.
Steelers anyone?

re: Mark Ingram playing with third string
Of course Ingram is second (third) string. I don't even get what the fuss is about. Thomas is one of the best backs in the NFL concerning advanced metrics and efficiency while Sproles is just downright perfect for the CSP offense.

If he wasn't a 1st round pick we wouldn't even be talking about him.

We get it. Sean Payton is too dumb to realize he's mishandling Ingram.

We should fire Payton

Because he sucks. I'm so glad we wasted two 1st round picks on this clown.

No but Aaron Kromer was. One of the best running game coordinators in the NFL. Good try though. How did Ingram do as a rookie when Payton was there? Not too good, especially since 1st round runningbacks should be able to step in right away. shite that year the Saints had the 6th best rushing offense in the NFL. His 474 yards didn't reflect his draft pick(s). Good thing we had other more capable RB's to pick up the slack.
