I'm guessing if dollars are cut this would void their lease. Is that correct?

Old white man upset about black players not shutting up and playing football. Shocking.

Let's just do the right thing as a country and pass a Constitutional amendment saying that not shedding tears while you stand fully upright towards a flag during the national anthem is punishable by a minimum 30 years in prison. MAGA

he makes a valid argument at least.

quote:

"Disrespecting our national anthem and flag in the name of social injustice is the highest form of hypocrisy," Havard said. "Our free society made possible by our fighting men and women has made available free education, free lunch, housing and free healthcare and is now be considered socially unjust," Havard said. "It is time the taxpayers quit subsidizing protest on big boy playgrounds. I believe in the right to protest but, not at a taxpayer subsidized sporting event. Do it on your own time. There are plenty of disabled children, elderly and veterans in this state that would appreciate the money."

With the lack of money in the state budget I would think this is possible to cut. Where are the Saints gonna go? Los Angeles? LOL

"protest on your own time". Doesn't that kind of defeat the point of the protest?

Just another Louisiana politician worried about reelection, not actually helping the state. Nothing to see here.

Gotta police the players. They're too outspoken and using their brain to think about things outside of football. We must condemn them.

They can't be like those very fine people of a month or so back.

Ask your boss if he would be ok if you protest on his time.

This is an interesting comment in his quote. The Federal Government is restricted by the First Amendment, not state or private entities.

I am willing to give the team the benefit of the doubt. There was no inkling of a protest from these players when it was related to Kaepernick. Once the President interjected himself into the discussion, the fact that some of the players responded was not unexpected. Now the players and organizations are experiencing backlash from fans.

(Players stopped going to the White House under the previous administration as a form of protest. The media just chose to attack the player in those instances. )

It will be interesting to see if this continues next week in London. I would hope that the issues can be kept to our own country but I am not hopeful.

Look, he just wants to open and start the conversations about hypocrisy and funding an organization benefiting directly from state funded monies.

Hypocrisy is on a rampage at the moment. We have protesters and those agreeing with them defending their right of free speech and action who then protest due to the POTUS doing the same thing.
