Torn ACL should keep him from performing at the combine or LSU's pro day.

Do we finally draft an LSU kid early?

Barnett @ 8 then Beckwith in the 2nd would be a dream first two picks. Its too obvious to actually happen, amirite?

Exactly what we need...another LB with a torn ACL.

at 8?? The saints will find a way to screw themselves out of a top 10 pick.

In true saints fashion we will win out, securing a #15 pick and then trade up into the top 10.

So we should draft a player who is injured and may never come back from it just because he played at "t" LSU?

I'll pass.

ACL tear hasn't been the kiss of death for quite a while now....

For those players who "never come back" the ACL tear is usually one of a bunch of things that happened to their knee when they injured it.

Doesn't have to be the kiss of death but it is a factor, especially for a MLB. Need all the speed you can get. Even if he is only 85% of his old self...

You don't pick a player with an ACL injury that high to begin with plus Beckwith was never projected to go top 15. Also, he won't be available for rookie camp, OTAs or the beginning of training camp. The team that drafts him will pretty much have to redshirt him anyway.

With that said, an ACL injury is not the death sentence type injury it once was. Sports medicine has come a long way. Beckwith's situation isn't like Jaylon Smith's from a year ago either where Smith had nerve damage along with an ACL tear. An ACL can easily be repaired but nerves don't regenerate which is why it looks like Smith will never play again. This isn't 1968 when Bear's doctors butchered Gale Sayers knee because they didn't know what they were doing back then. Beckwith would be a great selection anywhere from the 5-7 rounds where teams can begin to draft players who have any type of risk associated with them.

This. The other stuff is usually some type of nerve damage, meniscus tear, PCL & MCL ligament tear to go along with the ACL tear.

Just an ACL repair alone will not zap a player's speed or agility upon his return from the injury. There are players like DeSean Watson who fans don't even realize have had ACL repairs before they became household names. Does Watson look slow to you? Hell, Jadevoen Clowney had microfracture on his knee two years ago which is a much more difficult procedure to return from yet this season he looks as explosive as he did in college.

I'd love to get Zach Cunningham, but how about Jarred Davis. I know he didn't go to LSU, but he's also not injured. I'd have to wait until the 3rd round to take Beckwith at this point. And I love him as a MLB, but the injury scares me.

Beckwith isn't going in the 2nd. He'll be picked much much later, if at all.

He will be picked in the 4th round and end up being decent for a team. Not going to be the Saints though

The second was the earliest he was going pre injury. Last year, a projected top 3 pick at LB tore his acl and fell to the second in Jaylon Smith. The injury for beckwith will drop him from the 6-7 rated MLB prospect to the 11-12 range if I had to guess, so 4th or 5th round at the earliest

I saw him as late first pre injury. Who is a better MLB than him?

Cunningham? Na...he's just white so you think he is "the next Keuchly". Got news for ya pal. He aint that great.

Foster? He's good no doubt. But me thinks he's a few crayons short of a full box. Also, as mentioned before, he's a walking concussion.

Beckwith does everything you need a MLB to do. He's sharp ,athletic, and YUGE. If the Pats draft him he will be an all pro in two years.

Beckwith is going to be a good MLB in the league. He's worth a 3rd-5th round pick
