trade him. if we get a 1st and a 3rd we would be in great shape. we won the super bowl with broken down shockey!

Something will have to give if it's ruled he makes $12.5M a year.

All these "just pay the man" guys will be the first ones bitching when we starting losing guys because we can't pay them...especially when the defensive players come knocking on the door....book it.

Jimmy Graham is no where near just a system player.
He's not. He's a great TE.

But what is that worth?

In the last 15 years in the NFL, which team has won a SB because of a great TE?

Gronk/Hernandez (Pats) - nope, never won a SB.
Jimmy - nope, never won a SB.
Gonzales - nope, never won a SB.
Gates - nope, never won a SB.
Witten - nope, never won a SB.

The only great TE in the last 15 years that won a SB that comes to mind is Shannon Sharpe.

Great players all, for sure. HOF'ers. None of them have helped their team win a SB.

Trade to Chiefs for Flowers and don't draft a corner. Flowers Lewis and Champ equals the best secondary in the league better then Seachickens.

I know the subject has been beat to death, but I'm really concerned it may cripple the team. Jimmy will more than likely remain a Saint, but I'm just not so sure it's the right thing to do. How does it impact keeping Jordan and Hicks next year. I'm not denying Jimmy's ability or value to the team, I'm just thinking long term.

So, if the price were right I'd do it in a new york minute.

And to the Falcons trade idea - Brilliant.

I'll go on record saying the Saints will NOT sign Jimmy to a LT contract averaging $12 mil a year. In context, 5 years, $60 mil. Will not happen.

5/50, maybe.

I'm worried we can't sign him and he walks = we get Nothing for him!!

The issue with signing him is what we have left for the rest of the team. We did win a SZb with a older Shockey !!

I rather trade him and get a 1st round pick and a 3rd or 2nd next year..

Cut him. He isn't even worth the trade.

Trade.
This saga has grown tiresome. Would have been nice to have back to back seasons without a ton of drama

I've been preaching this for awhile. As long as we have players on huge paying contracts, we'll be facing salary cap problems each year.

I want to trade him. He wants too much and I'd hate for him to walk and leave us empty handed.

For him talk walk in FA, he'd likely have to play two years in a row on the Franchise Tag, unless the Saints just chose not to tag him again next year if a deal wasn't worked out. In that case, the only way I'd see the Saints not tagging him is if he won his grievance for WR. I don't know the numbers off the top of my head, but I'm guessing his tag next year would be around $15. Anyway, I don't see a deal not getting done before this season, much less by next offseason.
