Love how some of the board will not aknowledge that Jenkins has been pretty damn good since leaving New Orleans... Better than what we have at the position right now..

Is it the scheme or the player because he wasn't making many plays with us? He was solid with us but not creating many turnovers like he has with the Eagles.

He didn't do this with the Saints, so it's irrelevant to the front office decision to let him leave.

I'm glad he's doing well but less face it, him and Harper were terrible the last two years with us. I don't know if it was scheme or lack of motivation but they were always out of location and took terrible angles. Maybe it was coaching but we definitely upgraded with Vacarro and Byrd (sarcasm).

He was okay at best in 2009.

I think you mean 2010

Him and harper were too similar. He would have been better suited at SS

So terrible, they were scored the absolute worst safeties in the league. I'm happy for him, but damn, he sucked here.

I'm more upset when I see Greg Olsen and Paul Posluzny making plays 9 years after we drafted Robert Meachem ahead of them. Both were needs at the time.

I'm not sure we make the Super Bowl without Meachem's big plays, especially against Washington (helped us win home field advantage). He was an awesome run blocker too.

We did pretty well at Tight End too

Except Jenkins played well in his 2nd season with limited play in his 1st.

Vaccaro played great in his 1st, sucked in the 2nd. I wouldn't say he "blow dick" this year

Malcom played better in his rookie year, esp down the stretch. yea was still decent in year 2.

Vaccaro hasnt done shite this year. Not hard to play better than last year for him

He barely played his rookie year and in the playoffs. He was situational

his injury in the Tampa game cost us the Seahawks game. The defense was terrible without him.

He played much better in year 2. It really wasn't even a contest

Haven't looked at PFF, but I'm sure someone with access can verify his snap counts.

He was our #4 corner for the majority of the year, and didn't play in the NFCCG. He had a few good games when we were crushed by injuries

He was the starting safety in 2010, and our defense finished in the top 5 I believe. He filled holes due to injury in 2009, played corner mostly, and filled in at the nickel when players went down

ESPN - Malcolm Jenkins emerging as elite safety

quote:

Jenkins has become a play-making safety and a legitimate Pro Bowl candidate. When the Saints play the Ravens on Sunday, Baltimore linebacker Ray Lewis and safety Ed Reed will be the biggest-name defensive players on the field. But they might not be, at this moment, the best defensive players on the field.

That title might belong to Jenkins, who over the past month or so has played as well as any defensive player in the league. Jenkins' two interceptions against the Rams earned him a second NFC Defensive Player of the Week Award. He also won the award in Week 12, after stripping Dallas' Roy E. Williams of the ball, recovering the fumble and helping the Saints to a victory on Thanksgiving. It's rare for anyone to get an honor twice in a few weeks. The fact that Jenkins did is a sign that this guy can't be stopped right now.

You remember incorrectly
