Here is a article on the impact that he had with the Dolphins. Do we really want him to have more control with the Saints?

We ABSOLUTELY do not. Guy was horrible down here. Anyone who wants him to be gm is out if their mind.

I want him squarely where he is--in charge of scouting college players.

He has an eye for talent and some of the impact players on the Dolphins' roster are there because of him, but I do not think he is a good GM in regards to the financial side of things.

He has a good eye for front 7 and linemen. He's really bad with the financial side and contracts. Nothing we've experienced in the last 2 decades outside of Ditka compares to how badly he was loathed in South Florida.

Its clear the man can find talent and that goes back to his cowboys days.

I'm not defending Ireland but the Fins have been a wreck since Wayne Huizenga sold them.

Ehh. TheThe guy was a wreck. I remember the day he gave Mike Wallace and Ellerbe mega contracts. It didn't take a Dolphins fantom realize that wasn't the way to build long term success

Belicheck had an awful record in Cleveland.

Sean Payton had play calling duties taken away from him New York.

Successful people fail sometimes. It happens.

Saints draft with Ireland = impact rookies
Saints draft before Ireland = one draftee on the roster

He hasn't been given a chance yet. The jury is a waaaaaay out on if he has succeeded to the point of being worthy to be given the reigns of a job he was so horrible at before. Just because his players played better than the shite show draft picks we are accustomed to, doesn't grant him the keys to the franchise.

So keep him right where he is.

Also it shows how bad our rookies have been that this crop would be called "impact"
