Not Drew's fault though.

Is this you?

understandable but those passing yards in losses carry less value to them. Like Stafford throwing for 500 yards when we wax their arse by 24.

not really, since we were actually competitive in those games

No.

Looking at their careers from an unbiased perspective will tell you that.

If you're an idiot and only look at two games, you might get that impression.

Someone said Drew had some of the best all time postseason stats. I was just proving his point.

first lions game was competitive.... but completing 60 passes in any loss isn't something to be proud of... more often than not it directly means "we lost this one and played from behind most of the time"

You damn straight. Peyton Manning is a amazing regular season QB. When the playoffs roll around, he chokes it up.

Is that why his playoff QB rating is better than Brady's or Eli's?

My thing with Peyton is that he won the super bowl with a horrific post season. QB rating of 70. 3td 7int's

When he's played "well" in post season, it's generally been not enough to put the team over the edge.

7 of his 11 post season trips... he was one and done. That's a lot. so that leaves 4 he wasn't, one of which he played really bad and was carried by Bob Sanders. He didn't do enough in the post season given his accomplishments during the season and cumulative statistics and achievements IMO.

So you're judging Peyton Manning on about 7 (and he played well in many of those 7 "one and done" game) games out of his over 200 total games.

Gotcha.

I haven't give you any totality judgement. I'm giving you a post season observation that I think he could have done more in post season. And i've said he's played well often times, just not well enough to put his team over the edge. And we are using a barometer of oh... is he the greatest qb EVER so we have to go by a tough measuring stick, that's all.

Fair enough.

But if you look at his performances in each of his games, his good games have outnumbered his bad games, with others on his team letting him down more than his losing the game. That has to be taken into consideration.

The Pats owning his arse and he had a few pretty bad games kind of put the funk in the stunk. or something like that. I don't even know what the frick i'm arguing now. frick Peyton. frick eli. frick Brady.

Profootballfocus ranked all single game QB performances based on quality of opposing defense last year. Peyton was in the top 5 3 times (the only active QB in the top 5), and all three were playoff games. He's also the only QB with a perfect rating game in the playoffs in the past 30 years. He's been one of the better playoff QBs throughout his career, despite his team not winning as many championships as some would like.

He's had about 3-4 extremely impressive games, lots of "pretty good but not good enough" games and a few atrocious ones. We are trying to categorize peyton as the best ever.
