Just thinking that Forrest Lamp would be a great LG if he's there at pick 32

He took a major step forward as a G this past season. I think we will see him at RT a lot this offseason to see how he has progressed at that position. I would think that RT is the long term plan for Peat if he gets it together at the position. T's are much more difficult to find than G's and if you have a T already on your roster, you use them there.

they still say he's going to RT post-Strief but he improved a ton at LG last year, and he's never shown anything when he's played at RT.

i think he's going to end up at guard permanently which is fine IMO. he's going to get better.

Project Peat was drafted as a OT. Hope he settles into a permanent spot and prove his worth as a 1-13 draft choice.

That's why I think we will see him at RT a lot this offseason. I think they want to see if the light goes off at that position as well. Experience is the best teacher in the NFL and he was very young when he came into the league. They are going to want to see if that investment in time and money pays off this offseason.

Like Kelemete he's natural on the left side. I think it would be a mistake to try to move him to the right side again.

His skill set seems suited for a RG but his footwork tanks on the right because he is so used to the left.

If he's an above average starter at LG for the next 7 years than he easily is.

I agree, but Lamp is shooting up the board in the mock drafts. I think he'll be long gone by #32.

Its just positive knowing that regardless of what happens, he's a pretty good LG.

I agree but don't tell Lester this. All our first round picks are supposed to be superstars.

Peat doesn't seem comfortable on the right side. Some players can adjust their mechanics just fine, but he seemed like a pushover on the right side.

I would be fine with getting Lamp (I love lamp) and having him at right tackle.

You only want him so you can make this a thing. I'm oddly okay with it though

Seems to me like he is a very good LG and if Armstead goes down an above average LT. I don't see why thats not a great role for him.

I personally think it's incredibly valuable. I like having players that can fill in at multiple positions like him and Kelemete.

I agree. I'd rather keep him there. I think LT is his natural position, but him playing LG is best for the team. Armstead usually gets banged up during the season...Peat & Kelemete ease the pain of that.

I'd rather not draft an OT this year. I'd like to use our top 5 picks to address DE, S, CB, LB/QB, & 1 offensive weapon for CSP. We should be able to sign a legit RT next year in free agency for a reasonable price(assuming Strief isn't the starter). Good news is that RT doesn't cost nearly as much as LT. I actually like the current situation we are in with our O-Line. Hopefully we can get at least 3 more good years out of Unger.

The FO has done a good job of rebuilding the O-Line over the last 2 years. It wasn't looking good at all 3 years ago. Armstead & Strief were the only legit pieces we had. Goodwin was the center & Evans/Grubbs were in serious decline(and making a shite ton of money). Kelemete was also a not factor at the time.

Every time they put him on the right side (either RG or RT) he struggled. Seems like he's just more comfortable operating on the left side.

He's staying on the left side as guard. It has been proven over the last few yrs that Peat is a totally different player when he's playing on the left side compared to the right. He will be left guard all the way
