It's hard to know where his commitment level is.

But he brought a fire to that LSU defense.
He played his off in games.
Some of that has to translate.

And I mean, does a midlevel draft pick NEED a perfect attitude?

If anyone drafts him before the 5th or 6th, I think it's a bad move.

I'm a firm believer in that there's no way he lasts past the 4th round

It's like he's a joker at the secondary level. He is worth a 3rd and people saying not to take him in the 5th

SP has a pretty great late round track record and as someone else said, most 5th rounders aren't in the league very long

If he beasts his workouts, he'll be gone by the end of the third

So again, my point was - he's not a good cover corner in college. He surely won't be one in the NFL. Did I make that clear enough?

No one will ever say that he is going to be a great cover coner. He was never that at LSU, what he is is can't be classified by one aspect of a position that he is listed at. He is a above average blizter, a good tackler, great with the ball in the air, and will take the ball if a runner shows it to him. I think many teams would value the TO factor Tyrann brings.

going to say "but he makes plays"... true - against weaker opponents but you don't play many North Texas's in the NFL

Yes, because Oregon, West Virginia, Georgia, and Arkansas were nobodies in 2011

Mathieu in the 4th? Yessirrrr

Put him at punt return too and let Sproles get his snaps on offense.

Just my $0.02.

The fact that most LSU fans don't want him makes me want him that much more. Hey, tiger nation is wrong about everything else.

True, I didn't mean that negatively.

He was a good/great player in college - even made the Heisman vote. I just know I wouldn't want the Falcons to waste more than 5th, more likely anything higher than a 6th on the guy.

I just believe there's better TALENT (not even counting his drug stuff) out there in the draft.

HB is pure talent. You just can't coach his skills. He has, and I hate the term but it's true, "ball skills"

I won't be dumb enough to question his talent.

I really think the best thing for the guy is to get the hell away from here.

But, I'll also say that Sean Payton could potentially scare the stupid out of him, humble him, and get the best from the guy. Payton would not put up with any of his bullshite, including the ridiculous stuff he says on twitter.

I think you are confusing talet, with physical traits. On paper Taylor Mayes looks like a beast and a lot of teams thinks that translates into talent, but we know how that turned out. TM7 has talent but lacks size, if he were 6'1 he'd be talked about 1st or 2nd round even with the drugs.

Most people aren't questioning his talents. They are questioning his character, or lack of

I know, but in the 4th round or later I'd take a guy with first/second round talent who has character concerns. shite, I'd take him in the 3rd.

Litto Shepard was a first round pick.

When we hired rob Ryan, HB7's chances of playing went up IMO

When TM7 is on the board in the 3rd round, and a team that has has a strong head coach with good vetaren leadership comes up TM7 will at least be on there mind. A mid 3rd for a kid who has 1st/2rd talent is well worth the risk.

out to me is his absolute BUST of a game against bama in the 2009 BCS Championship

he actually had pretty good coverage in that game. Saban ran long routes on him, we didn't get pressure, and McCarron put the ball on the spot

quote:

He had big plays but the ones I remember came on special teams or punt/kickoff teams.

he was one forced fumble away from having the most in NCAA history as a softmore. UGA and Arkansas are the only games he had punt returns, and against Oregon he had the special teams touchdown off a forced fumble. West Virginia, Oregon, Kentucky, Florida, and Arkansas were games he made HUGE plays on defense
