and host a home playoff game...
and win.
and stumble into the Superbowl
and win.

Then we will have DA next year for sure if he wins the SB

We'll never win another Superbowl if we win another Superbowl.

the derek carr super bowl mvp speech would be so brutal that it would be worth rooting for the afc team.

We’ve beaten one team with a winning record.
Three of our wins are against backup QBs.
Three of our wins are against the worst teams in the NFL. (Panthers, Patriots & Panthers)

Do you really think we have a chance at winning a playoff game?

You can hope all you want

Can Saints win the division...with this schedule it should have been close to done already but even rest of the way sure

Now to go anywhere in the playoffs you will have to beat at least 2 of Dallas or Philly, and San Francisco if not play and beat all 3

What do they have in common...some of the best pass rushers in the league...where do the Saints have one of their biggest weaknesses...you guessed it blocking

Our QB has never won a playoff game and is historically pretty awful in the RZ...in general you need TDs in the playoffs and we have someone who can't score when he gets there...to add salt on the wound we have a kicker that isn't a lock in the RZ either

What do they have 2 have dual threat QBs which our defense has always struggled with...the other has 2 MVP candidates in the backfield and Kyle Shanahan...

Saints haven't won 3 games in a row all year against much inferior competition...but will get things right just in time to beat 2 or 3 of the best teams in the conference lol

Would love to see what happens when we win the division, beat the cowboys or eagles, and get slaughtered by San Fran.

More excuses of "we are close" and a bunch of delusion like the giants last year.

That's pretty close to the doomsday scenario...

If that happens Allen may have bought himself 2 more years with this organization

I'm only mentally prepared for him being around 1 more year and even that's too long

If Carr plays like he did yesterday.

If the O-line blocks like they did yesterday.

If we get starting receivers back from IR.

If the D-line gets pressure like they did yesterday.

If the linebackers play like they did yesterday.

If the secondary covers like it did yesterday.

If the RB's blitz pickup like they did yesterday.

If Carr quits yelling at his teammates.

If DA and Carmichael build a good game plan like they did yesterday.

If the fans support the team and don't boo.

Then yes the Saints can win a playoff game and make a run. But, that's a whole bunch of if's.

I couldn't tolerate another playoff loss to San Fran, especially if it's close.

Now, if the Saints beat San Fran and become the sacrificial NFCCG lamb to the Lions' Super Bowl run... that, I can accept.

I hope they do but I hope they do it in a fashion that still forces DAs hand at making a change at OC.

Btw that may already be a forgone conclusion.

We played on of the worst pass rushing teams in the league. (We are 4th worst, they are 3rd worst) They are 5-9 with a backup QB who missed several wide open routes by the TEs. We looked good against a terrible terrible team. We won’t play any team that bad in the playoffs. We can’t even beat mediocre teams like Minnesota, Buccaneers, Falcons, Packers, etc.

The difference is that in the playoffs you’re not playing one of the worst 5 teams in the league

I’d laugh my arse off if this team actually starts to get hot.

Its then like, do we cheer now?

Yes absolutely. If they actually play consistently good then all of us would stop hating on this coaching staff. The issue is that they have shown no signs of competency, and we don't want a culture of failure to be the norm again.

Personally I'd love for Allen to show us he's a good coach. He seems to be a legitimately great person. Being sub 500 with the easiest schedule in the league is not good though. That's just the reality of it all
