I sat in a Birmingham bar for the game and people were going crazy everytime Seattle did something or the saints fricked up. A guy with a manning jersey said very loud bye bye to the most annoying team in the NFL, Brees is a pussy etc. I know some are terd falcon fans but come on how can you hate new Orleans. What in the frick did we do to deserve this. What being loyal to the team??

It's just people pulling for the underdog. It just seems weird because we've never been in this position before.

therein lies the issue, if this were a Mobile bar you certainly would not have had this booing going on. Birmingham is basically an extended Atlanta suburb with Crimson Tide and Falcon fans.

Birmingham is 2 hrs down I-20 from Atlanta.

not that hard to believe

well, i really would not expect ANY Saints/Louisiana love in Birmingham. Outside of Louisiana (and south Mississippi), i really don't see how anyone would love the Saints with a Passion.

But i do, and next season could not get here soon enough.

Do you read the stuff the Saints fans here write about Atlanta?

But to the point, everyone pulls for underdogs and against champions.

If the Colts or Pats were playing the Chiefs, it would be the same.

Get used to it or go back to being bad.

you know I have never been there, and with no sarcasm involved is it a decent place to take a little vacation? The lady and I were thinking about a road trip for spring break and we were thinking about some cities.

A transient city with an apathetic fan base. I never fully undertood as to why Fulton County Stadium, Turner Field, Georgia Dome and Philips Arena are never filled to capacity. The Braves were winning NL East titles year after year and they would be lucky to draw 38,000 for a playoff game.

I read worse stuff from atlanta fans. I lived in Birmingham since oct and never saw falcon fans til about 2 weeks ago. I guess the blew the dust off their old falcon gear. However I do see alot of saints stuff on cars around here more than falcons

This. No hate for the Saints. Those same people would have been cheering for us in SB XLIV.

If it is a transient city, when in the frick are some of the transients going to leave?

So that is basically your defense of the hate? If that is your reasoning, why does the rest of the country owe NO love? (which by the way was dripping last year)

Well, I am guessing "worse stuff" is subjective, but I can at least agree with "same stuff"

And that is my point. The Saints fans are exactly the same towards Atlanta.

I'm an NFL fan-just like to watch and follow-but not a fan of any team really. And I like to talk football, but I have to be very careful what I say here to avoid getting treated like crap here. And it is personally directed hate.

It sounds to me like it's fine for the N.O. people to hate Atlanta for no real reason, but the reverse is offensive to you.
