Die-hard Saints' fans are obsessed w/ the draft. Every pick is analyzed to death, the discussion goes on for hours, and hours, and hours, on radio, on TV, here. I would have thought that most fans would be on the edge of their seat waiting to hear news on Collins. Yet this morning I saw nothing. I found it odd.

I honestly wasn't sure if there was something I was missing ... was Saints Talk intentionally steering away from discussion of Collins potentially signing w/ the Saints? Was there some reason I was unaware of to do so?

I started a thread with the belief most readers would understand it dealt w/ Collins ... guess I was wrong. I would think that signing him would be an unbelievable coup - getting two potential perennial all-pro Olinemen in one draft? That would be amazing. But I get a sense of indifference that I find odd.

I'm told that the Saints have already spent their UFDA budget. Really? Wouldn't all of us love to see the Saints sign Collins, even if he were the only UFDA signed? Yeah, there could be some diamonds in the rough, I know we've signed good UFDA's in prior years, but we're talking about a high first round talent, regardless of whether he went to LSU, or wherever.

The fact he is a local guy would seem to only increase the Saints' chances of signing him, I would think. Again, I get this weird vibe I'm missing something.

Yeah man, there is literally nothing to do (and nothing more to say) until the situation resolves itself. You want to take the fact that we are keeping our powder dry as some sort of personal affront, you go right ahead.

WTF ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT?!?!

There have been countless, innumerable thread on Lael Collins. Tons. Millions. There is a unanimous consensus since the draft has ended that everyone would love to have him on the team.

Then you come along, and not only post the same shite that has been posted over and over and over again, but do it in the stupidest possible way. You were ambigous to the point of being incoherent. When people made fun of your redundant and poorly constructed thread, your head was so far up your own arse you assumed that was somehow an indictment on Collins or an allusion to this forums desire to have him on the team.

You still dont get it. You might have brain damage.

I saw no "million threads" this morning.

I'm sure Loomis and Payton will do what's best for the team.

Probably second only to Dallas as far as pure talent on O line if we could add Collins :

Last reply to one of your post: there is nothing that any team or Collins is going to do right now. We're no closer to a resolution of this problem than there was when the first round kicked off. Collins just met with the police and still hasn't taken a paternity test; it is going to take time to get some clarity.

Would a team sign him right now?
Maybe they would and maybe they wouldn't. They don't risk a draft pick but they still risk getting caught up in a shite storm if this thing turns south.

Does Collins want to sign with a team right now?
Maybe he does and maybe he doesn't (you see how these answers follow a pattern?). What's the advantage of him signing with anyone right now? He might pick up a whopping $6 to $8 grand as a signing bonus (I suspect that most, if not all, of the teams are spending the allotted signing bonus money as this is being written).

The last point: If Collins is cleared, there should be some type of special exemption made available to the guy. Again, if he is cleared, he did nothing to cause the events that have unfolded.

People with a pulse are now posting on this topic; they are even using clever language that requires a little smarts and reading b/w the lines. When you read this in the morning, let me know what you think.

Oh, and blow me.

it's a mystery to me as well. I posted a topic about Collins on sunday morning (as there were none on page 1 at least) and the responses were pretty similar. I don't get it either. Seems Collins would be a hot topic for Saints fans. If we could somehow swing landing him our oline would potentially go to one of the best in the NFL. Many analysts had Collins tagged as possibly moving to guard and thought that might be his best position in the NFL . Just think left to right a starting oline consisting of Armstead, Evans, Unger, Collins, and Peat.

Some people have nothing better to do than keep track of how many threads have been started on a topic. Who gives a shite?

Never reported a thread in my life. And you realize you being older (though I'm not sure how you would conclude that) only makes you more pathetic?

Actually I thought YOU were older; sorry but I envision a group of 70 yr olds who wake up at 4 am to pee and can't fall back to sleep, and get their jollies critiquing Saints Talk threads. My original thread this morning was not ridiculous, it did require a little nuanced reading, just like many of the comments in some of these threads. At the end of the day, who gives a frick? And I still say something weird was going on, I went over to Tiger Rant and the moderators were whacking Collins threads left and right.
