Ingram's stats have been above average this year, yet when I watch him I see an average RB.

No break away speed (except his one run vs SF), not very shifty, often goes down on first contact, rarely falls forward, always seems to get just short of what we need, receiving skills are limited to dump offs only (see Cadet's role), no return ability.

You realize that for everything you said to be true, it would be impossible for him to have above average stats, right?

I guess the way I see it is... his supposed breakout year didn't help the team win any games since we're sitting here not in the playoffs

I always forgot football is a sport where 1 person makes the difference. How silly of me to forget such a well known aspect of the game.

The hate towards Ingram on this board is insane.

Just look at this thread.
He's literally been producing for your favorite team for six years.

He's been here longer than he was ever with the Crimson Tide.

Still not in the playoffs but with a much better draft pick. What do I win?

I've always said Mark Ingram having a good year will piss off the majority of Saints fans. I still remember people being pissed when Harper made the pro bowl.

It means nothing if he doesn't help lead us to the playoffs. It's just stats and stats are misleading in the overall scheme of things (See...Drew Brees).

I fought back the urge to call you an ignorant douchebag that knows nothing about football, if that makes you feel better about my word choice.

I'm more concerned how the board will react when we win out for no apparent reason, finish 8-8 with no playoff spot, a mid draft pic and we are all trying to figure out where the frick this team was the first 13 games of the season.....because you know it's gonna happen.

You can almost guarantee that if it is 1st or 2nd and 10 Ingram is going to get 2-4 yards. If it is 2nd and 3, he will get 2 yards.

He is averaging 5.1 ypc on the season, something tells me your guarantee has nothing to do with what he actually does on the field.

-had to edit, I accidently grabbed his career ypc of 4.4

My question is how will the board react when he eclipses 1,000 on the season. Only needs to average 76 yards per game the rest of the way.

he's not going to and that is why they're going to continue spouting the whole "he's never been a 1000 yard rusher"

even though he's never had more than 226 carries in a single season. Hell, I think that was the 2nd most ever in the CSP era for a single back.

Doesn't matter. The Bama inferiority complex is too strong these days.
