He is clearly growing into his role...can we claim him as a member of DBU
Posted on 10/15/15 at 10:59 pm to LSUGoo
lets not neglect the impact that pressuring the QB has on the coverage in the secondary

I guess so. He was in our recruiting class and then injured his neck. Attended classes there for over 2 years. Either LSU or McDonough 35 High in New Orleans.

He played like a top ten corner in the league, which is exactly where PFF had him ranked coming into the game. Really impressive start to his NFL career.

Put Julia's arse in a straightjacket. I was fully expecting us to put Browner on him, foolishly thinking he'd rough him up but Breaux shut him down in man on man situations.

hard to believe he broke his neck years ago. He did great.

He did a good job. But Julia had his best game in 3 weeks and wa supposed to be on a pitch count until earlier today.

Unbelievable what this guy is doing.... He went from flag football to Arena Football to Canadian Football to making his home team NFL squad to doing a great job on one of the best, if not the best, WR in the NFL. On top of that, he's a great dude off the field. I'm hoping he has the long career in the NFL that he deserves.

Breaux kept that arse on pitch count.

At least 30 of his 93 yards were not on Breaux. I know you're trying to troll us, but (at worst) 5/63 against a top 3 WR is fantastic.

So you're saying Breaux wasn't even matched up on him all night if you're disregarding the 30yder. So 5/63 loses its luster if he wasn't guarding him all game no? I said he did a good job in my first post.
Posted on 10/15/15 at 11:42 pm to Boomshockalocka
The majority of his yards were from sitting down in holes in the zone.
Posted on 10/15/15 at 11:44 pm to saintsfan22
Agreed. Which is why you can't really say Breaux shut him down if he was playing zone. Jones wasn't even breauxs responsibility.

The rest of the time, Jones was mostly silent. Breaux matched up on him 34 times as the primary man in coverage. Jones made two catches on those plays, a curl for 5 yards and a slant for another 4. That’s it. He was erased on most of the other 32 snaps.

You know he's never going to admit he's wrong, right, Thrillho?

He wasn't playing zone all night.

Chip had 34 snaps against Julio. He gave up 2 receptions for 9 yards.

Matt Ryan attempted to target Jones with Breaux in coverage three other times. The first two passes were broken up. One came on an inside-out route near the goal line in the first half. The other was during the third quarter on an in route.
The third target came during the fourth quarter, when Ryan tried to hit Jones on a go route. Breaux gained inside positioning and pinned Jones to the sideline, and the pass fell incomplete. Jones was unable to make anything resembling a successful play on the ball.
Perhaps the most impressive aspect of the performance is that New Orleans mostly left Breaux on an island against Jones. He had no safety help on many plays. He was just there, alone, against one of the NFL’s best receivers, and he held his own.

Julia was hurt all night. When man covered he wasn't hardly targeted.
Decoy.
Let's not act like ATL had any trouble moving the ball. They avg like 6.5 yards per play that's elite offense.
