Rodgers deserved it in 11 even with Brees having his best season

How does this hurt his legacy?

If you are an all time great you should have at least 1 MVP.

Its insane that he doesn't have one...

If Brees played in the Northeast, he'd have two MVPs by now.

Brees put up MVP seasons in 09 and 11. Rodgers had one of the best years ever in 11 so he didn't get it. He deserved it in 09, but Manning name.

He should have got it in 2011. Had that been Peyton or Brady they would have gotten on past accomplishments , seniority, and name alone. Now put that aside he threw 46 tds, Rodgers guys were wide the hell open that year and now still making ridiculous catches you know saints receivers are dropping.

I would think Brees would rather have the Super Bowl MVP

If Brees was 3 inches taller and played in a major market, he'd have 3 MVP trophies, 12 first team pro-bowl elections, and everyone would agree he is a top 3 all time QB. As it is he's 5-11, plays in the deep south, and when "experts" talk about the best QBs in the league right now, they say with a straight face Brady, Rogers, then the rest are sub-elite. Like Brees isn't playing like he's 27 and isn't a future first ballot hall of famer.

It's narrative driven BS. In 2009 Brees has better efficiency stats and numbers all around but loses it to Manning because of record. In 2011 people didn't even give him a mention because Rodgers had awesome stats.

Stats matter one year, then others they don't.

Except green bay was better than the Saints in 2011 as well.

Ontop of the fact Rodgers year was near all time numbers

He's finished 2nd three times.
2006- LT (honestly should've been a tie. LT had a record-setting season and lead his team to 14-2 but Brees turned a 3-13 team around into a 10-6, first-round bye team)
2009- Payton (Payton won bc of record and his last name)
2011- Rodgers (the media pushed for Rodgers along with GB going 15-1 and the Saints not getting a first-round bye)

Brees honestly should've won it in 2008, 2009, and 2011. Only reason he didn't win in 08 was because they went 8-8. But its a damn shame Matt Ryan will more than likely have an MVP before Brees (if he ever does win one)!
