I was daydreaming about how awesome buga in a saints uniform would be. I don't recall ever having a very high profile local guy. Henderson is the only once that comes to mind but is hardly call him a superstar. Also wondered why as many great players the state produces how saints never came to terms with a Faulk etc

Michael Lewis, Ashley Ambrose, Bobby Hebert, ok, not exactly superstars

Deuce was born and grew up a three hours drive from New Orleans (Ludlow, Ms.) played his college ball five hours from New Orleans (Ole Miss).
Willie Roaf grew up six hours from N.O. (Pine Bluff, Arkansas) and played college ball four hours from New Orleans.
And besides Drew Brees & Ricky Jackson, those are about as big a star as the Saints have.
Other "lower level stars": Bobby Hebert, Dalton Hilliard, Devery Henderson, Eric Martin (from Tx.), Michael Lewis. Guys who went out of state for school would be Tyrone Hughes and Tracy Porter.

I'd take a team full of Norwegians if they won games.

They wanted Michael Haynes to be a superstar and paid him like one.
He never was a superstar.

Saints starting backfield in late '80s was all-LA: QB Hebert, FB Jordan, RB Hilliard. And Eric Martin at WR. Not HOFs, but pretty good group.
