I don't think that we can rely too much on getting a rookie that we know can jump in and start for us. Scherff and Collins could be gone by the time we pick (probably not Collins). I'd like to bring in a solid vet on a short term deal. Justin Blalock would be a really nice stopgap while we coach up our draft pick and would give us insurance in case Jahri starts sucking arse again.

I sure hope the Saints don't blow this and trade up in the first round. They need to stockpile draft picks and use all of them. There is no QB in this draft that looks like a replacement for Brees.

Please draft Collins. Please draft Collins. It's setting up almost to perfect for it not to happen.

Scherff or Collins could easily start at guard. Those guys are most definitely good enough to come right in and play.

We think so, but the draft is a total crapshoot. Half (?) the guys in the first round will be disappointments.

What a great trade. We were prob going to cut him or evans. Now we get a free 5th rounder plus the cap space.

we get a 5th round pick.. cool I guess.

it sort of makes up for the 4th rounder we packaged in the Jimmy trade.

Right, but they may both be gone at 13. Cam Erving looks like an immediate starter as well, but he'd be a reach that early and may be gone at 31. After him, you start getting players that may be better off developing a little bit before being thrown to the wolves.

AJ Cann could probably be a Day 1 starter and he'll likely be there at 31.

the guard from Duke (Tomlinson) had a good Senior Bowl.

was the only guy holding his own against Danny Shelton.

maybe he's a guy we get at #31 or 2nd round?

Saints save $3.6M on cap this year ($6.6M in cash). Chiefs assume $6.6M in cap commitment in '15. $7.3M in '16

Grubbs for a 2015 5th rounder is a fricking win. Oh, the free cap space...outstanding work so far, Mickey.

While I do think that had a lot to do with play at center, a rookie should do fairly well besides Unger.

I agree. I was speaking more of in the past. I'd be fine with moving Evans
