NFL is legitimately looking at moving the @NFL draft. Date I hear as likely target is May 15. Everything else would probably stay same

Why in gods name would you do that? We already have to wait so long to get that middle of the offseason taste of football

So this would push back OTA's? I would think it would put a crunch on teams to get ready for camp.

Per Schefter, the league will also move the new league year (free agency and trades) to ahead of the Combine, which is typically held in late February. The NFL draft is typically held around the last weekend in April. The changes, which have been in the works for awhile, are designed to "keep fans' attention over a longer period" and "use the events to produce additional revenue."

Probably has to do with TV coverage. May is one of the four months of the year(outside larger markets) when Nielsen measures how many people are watching which channel.

Free Agency is March. They were talking about moving the combine to April and the draft to May.

No I think you do. Who gives a frick if the draft is April 25 or May 15 does it really matter? Or are you still butthurt that Goodell punished the Saints for doing something that they shouldn't have been doing after they were told to stop?

I would like this actually.

The first day of the draft was the same night I had to write a fricking research paper.
This would be between semesters.

Not trolling. I am an avid Saints fan. Its just the the Goodell shite is almost as bad as everybody thinking Obama going to cause the world to explode and come get all our guns. It is uneducated blabber is all it is. If you want to be mad at someone for the thrown away season how about starting with the management, coaches & players that fricked up. That would make a lot more sense. But oh know it must be that everyone is out to get us. Its annoying and makes our entire fanbase look like dumbasses.

Could really give a frick less what you think of the usage of my accrued vacation time.

Another nugget
quote:

@adbrandt: Everything is negotiable: NFL wants "American Idol" format leading up to Combine; NFLPA wants a way to try to perk up FA market.

Have no idea what that means

More guys signed before teams turn their attention to the draft.

A lot more mid level talent left on the market this year than usual.
