The Packers are the only example I can think of.

Neither the Seahawks or Steelers really "let a QB go" to build with a young QB.

And the favre retired.

They went 6-10 the next season.

I'm not willing to throw away seasons at this point. And guess what, they're paying Rodgers $18 million this year

Yep. It's the new nfl. What teams like us are doing will be phased out. Seattle's formula is here to stay.

You don't think they're going to pay Wilson?

So Seattle isn't going to pay Wilson? They are going to just let him go, and then draft another QB? Is that accurate?

That's a rather arbitrary and specific question.

Considering that player salaries have gone up drastically over the last few years (thanks to the popularity of the game), it's only recently that we've HAD QBs making that much. Also, since only one per year can win it, and since there are currently more making less than that than there are making that much, the odds are against it.

Now, if you want to make a rational argument, by all means do so. Otherwise, go back to the rant.

Rodgers is the best qb in the league. Drew Brees is old. Still making less. Paying Drew $18 mil is considered being okay throwing away seasons in my opinion.

Hicks, Allen, Kenny, Jordan and junior are talented no doubt.
Seattles 2-3 deep at every spot on defense. GTFO saying as a unit we are really talented.

Yep. Lets see:

2002 - NE, Brady before he got paid.
2003 - TB, Great D
2004 - NE, See 2002
2005 - NE, Signed a 6 yr 60Mil contract (sound familiar)
2006 - Pitt, Big Ben, and a Great D
2007 - Indy, Manning had a 11.8mil hit this year
2008 - NYG, Eli - signed 6 yr, 97.5 mil the next season, not to mention beat Brady
2009 - Pitt again - riding a D
2010 - Well, you know
2011 - Pack, Rodgers signed 5 yr, 110 in 2013
2012 - NYG, Eli had a cap number of 14.8 mil that year
2013 - Balt, yeah, Flacco got paid for his D being great
2014 - Seattle - Great D, Wilson will get his.

Trend is that these QBs will get paid. Drew got paid. So will all these others. It has to work.
Its a trend. No matter what team you pull for, if your QB takes you to a SB, elite or not, he'll make 100 mil+ on his next contract. Hell, Ryan, Romo and next, Kapernick, will get these contracts for doing nothing.

You just have to fall in line with it and strike early, ala, Seattle.

Rodgers contract is for 10 million more than Brees.

Even Brady will tell you that he rode his defense to at least two of their SB wins.

Heck, he said as much on his FS1 interview a few months ago.

False. However, their 1s are very good. They have 1 more year with these guys. Then Earl Thomas, Sherman, Wilson, Lynch and Chancellor will have to get paid. They already lost Clemons, Golden Tate, and a couple of other guys. They got lucky that Bennett took less money to stay, otherwise he'd be in Chicago right now.

This shite is all relative. Even if the cheap QB wins you a Super Bowl, he won't be cheap for long. Problem is you pay a guy like Flacco and miss the playoffs. It took a bogus investigation, no HC, and a loss of draft picks to keep Brees out of the playoffs.

Sure, just have a couple of homerun drafts, cut bait when their rookie deals expire, and do it all over again. It's so simple.

Yup. You just have to get almost every draft pick right in every draft, never pay any of your elite talent and just let them go ever 3-5 years! Its just that simple! So easy!

I would say hicks, Jenkins, KV, junior, cam, hicks, bunkely, Lewis, Butler are all pretty talented players. Greer was talented too

Bush isn't a scrub himself. Neither is loft on. Hawthorne is a weakness. White and Robinson are as good as teams get for #3 and #4

Then we just added arguably the best safety in the nfl

So the one real weakness we had (Malcolm) was upgraded

Comparing the saints d to Seattle or san frans is hilarious. And to the guy explaining every year, please tell me how much they made that year. There is no precedence of a 18 mil qb winning the Super Bowl.

You said how much they were making. Rodgers makes more money. The cap hit is a matter of structure.

The Saints structured it that way.

And Tom Brady makes 2 mil. Everyone else talked about the cap number so far.

Corey white graded out very well as the number 3 corner. He's young and getting better.

God you're in idiot. The fact that I listed all those players and that's all you have speaks volumes. We have a young a talented defense that just got even better

? We were a top 5 defense last year despite losing Greer, Robinson, KV, and Butler to injury.

We finished ahead of San Fran in total D despite playing a harder schedule.
