Bobby April wouldn't be a surprise. Didn't work out for him with the Titans and this is his stomping grounds.

Nice. Wait until the season has already been fricked by the special teams and then make the changes

I told my buddy at work that if McMahon isn't fired this week then I may finally lose faith for this season.

Special teams has cost us for years.

Fingers crossed it's finally happening.

Or would you rather he stays for another 5 years and continues to frick things up? Better late than never.

I do agree that it should have been done before, but it still needs to be done.

I think he is just saying that it is way overdue and that the damage has been done. (In reference to DO11)

Glad Payton is going this route and not just cutting the kicker while fixing nothing. He clearly reads this board and respects me.

Yo why not have Tom Benson call Morten Andersen and get him to come in for free and teach our retard kicker how to get under short kicks more. That lesson should literally take 10 minutes.

So how does the conversation between Payton and McMahon go? If a new assistant makes the special teams better how does that benefit McMahon?

Well based on the fact that he's not been fired id say he's still around. There's just someone else doing his job now while he sticks around and does nothing. I'm glad we finally decided to do something about it but it's way too late and part of me also isn't going to be happy until McMahon is fricking out

Can we bring in additional assistant coaches and pay the existing assistant coaches to stay home?

As a whodat lifer McMahon continuing really is wearing on my faith and hope. He is just now getting negative press but many of us here have been calling for his head for years now.

Bringing in another guy and leaving him reminds me of bringing in new DCs but forcing them to keep Vitt and Johnson- the two most underperforming areas of the team. I have not liked the revolving door of DCs but I have respected Payton for making a change when it ain't working (Gibbs was also a personal friend to him). PLease get a new guy at least this offseason before it gets harder to keep the faith.

Is Kwon still on staff? Used to coach STs in Detroit.
