If no Butler deal, then possibility of a corner at #11 skyrockets. It will likely be to the #2 or 3 CB on their board at the Saints pick. The more I've read on Conley, the more I have liked. Good piece HERE

Which other CBs could you see at #11?

Another NFL decision-maker said: "Conley has always been a first-round corner, and I understand why he is the top guy on some boards. He may not be as flashy as some of the other corners, and maybe the upside isn't quite as high, but neither is the risk. This is a clean player who started for two years and who made big plays in big games. There is a lot to like."

Malik Hooker
Jamal Adams
Lattimore

Those are the only pass defenders I would take at #11

Between 11-32 I could see:
Marlon Humphrey
Gareon Conley

At #42 you could potentially have:
Fabian Moreau
Kevin King
Quincy Wilson
Tre'Davious White

At #76 or #103
Howard Wilson
CHIDOBE AWUZIE
Ahkello Witherspoon

Barnett
Conley
and Foster
In no particular order is who I think this is all coming down to. Maybe maybe a Reddick but I think he's separated from above

He's been invited to the draft (along with the list below), so I don't think he is expected to last until #76.

CB Adoree' Jackson, USC

3 CBs in the 1st Rd? I'd give odds closer to 6 than 3 will be selected.

In his 3 rd mock, Steve palazzo from PFF has us taking White at 11 and Conley at 42, with Njoku sandwiched in between. Curtis Samuel goes with the last pick

Talk about shoring up CB and adding two dynamic offensive weapons. Love it, personally, but I'm on board with CB being a way bigger need than DE

I agree about CB being the biggest need. And I love the idea of getting a weapon like Samuel.

We can up Okafor's snaps and play him as nickel DE. He's a guy like Fairley that was effective with limited snaps and will hopefully keep it up with more...if he's healthy.

Who's gonna start in base? Tapp? Onyemata?

I don't see Conley lasting to 42. I think White may have a better chance to last to 42, but doubt it too.

I know ST is in love with McCaffrey, but if Saints go offense with one of the top 3 picks, I prefer TE position with Howard, Njoku or Engram, I just see better value there.

Also, I'm 100% on board with a double dip on defense - CB, DE. Doing a couple of mock sims shows the true depth of this draft. I think there's a good chance to get an EDGE guy at 76 and a OT at 103.

Yea im not sure conley will last til 42. 32, possibly. I've seen him and White mocked all over the place, in the end, I think they are those tweeners that could go anywhere from 20-40. In the same breath, I saw another PFF mock that has Lattimore falling to us. Hard to get a read on these guys

We kinda saw those tweeners last year with the guys who were mocked in the 20s a lot and fell til the 2nd rd, especially defensively - Dodd, Ogbah, Myles Jack, Noah Spence, Ragland and A'shawn, the Clemson CB. Lotta guys had 1st RD grades on them.

I wish we could just draft the Buckeyes defensive backfield this year

It's deep for CB but not so clear on the order. I started a Cornerback thread to hash that out

I'd love to see the Saints draft Conley. I watched his highlites a few weeks back, and this guy can get it done. He comes out of a good system at Ohio State. He's a good character guy. What's not to like? I hope he's still there at 11. If we can get Conley in a Saints uni, we won't need Butler

We have an Ohio State pipeline now It all makes sense. Think he'll be the pick at 32 if he's there.

Garron Conley is good but I wouldn't take him at 11 that's just a tad bit early . And njoku I don't think will last to 32. Have a feeling we draft whoever at 11 then trade out of 32 and have two second rounders which I would love

I'll be very confused if we don't draft a DE by #42 at the very latest.

If the FO does wait until the 3rd & hits on him, then props to them. If he ends up being a bust, then they will get a ton of shite for it & deservedly so. That would be the definition of overconfidence.

How?

There's no bigger need on this roster than "pass rush" (wherever that comes from).

Yep.

Do you trust Okafor, Kikaha, or Tapp to realistically lock down the DE position & provide legit production? They could be very good depth imo.

I think Breaux, PJ Williams, & Sterling Moore are much better candidates to give us legit production at their position. While injuries cloud this position...they've at least done it when healthy. The same can't be said for our DE's(outside of Cam Jordan).

That being said...these are our 2 biggest needs & both need to be addressed by pick #42 at the very latest imo.
