I don't know if he will turn it around. But, I don't mind taking a chance on a guy who is still young, once showed to have a ton of talent and potential, and is basically a no risk player.

I would only do it if it was a contract that allowed him to be cut the second they see something they don't like, be it attitude, or knee issues. Those are the things that have derailed his career. Talent wise, the kid was kind of a beast when he wanted to be. Just my opinion.

Immaturity and unwillingness to put in the necessary work, along with injuries sapping his natural talent.

He basically got by on talent alone. He never cared to put in work in practice or the film room. Once you get injured and can't rely on just being better than most everyone else, you're edge is gone and you suck.

Jarvis Jones is learning that you can't get by just being better than everyone else because he isn't any more. Bullet dodged.

I would love to get James Jones on the cheap. He would be a legit deep threat.

The Saints have largely avoided players with attitude issues.

The last I even remember was Shockey.
Or Turley.

Turley was also before Payton(Haslett actually liked guys with attitude). Shockey was Payton's boy, but you could see them butting heads every now and then. Nicks was an absolute steal in the draft but had attitude concerns, which is why we never offered him a second contract.

Payton will pick his spots, but he doesn't play around with that shite. Who was the corner that caused the fumble in OT vs. the Skins in our SB year? He was cut not long after that game because he said or did something negative.

Also Johnny Patrick that was the snitch from the Spags shite. Even though it was all likely true, Payton don't play that.

I don't know, we had 9 different corners that year.

Prioleau?
Mcallister?
Young?

Chris McAllister. That's the one.

Prioleau was a safety, and GW's adopted son.

I don't know what you guys see in Britt. What makes you think he'll turn it around?

I see a talented WR with a cheap price tag. I know that he has issues, but he could be signed to a contract that is advantageous to the team if he starts acting stupid. I also think there is enough leadership in the locker room- Brees, Colston, Thomas, etc. that can keep him in line.

Don't get me wrong, I hope the position is addressed in the draft, but I wouldn't mind adding a free agent.

I usually agree with taking flyer, but you can't fix a broken, lazy piece of shite. I was open at first but the more I read on him...

I would much prefer someone like James Jones, but I don't think we can afford him. I think IF a free agent WR is added it will have to be somebody like Britt.

Anything new on Joe Morgan. I know he visited the Chiefs, but I haven't heard anything since then.

He didn't sign, so that is probably a good thing. His health is still likely an issue so teams may wait until he is fully healthy/after the draft to see if he can run/see if they draft a legit WR instead.

And I don't think there was ever any intention on signing a FA WR(aside from maybe Morgan). I think the team legitimately likes Toon and Tanner's potential regardless of how people here feel about that.

Plus it makes more sense to go cheap and draft a WR in a deep WR class than to overpay an older guy. I think this is their same thinking on CB and C.

Those are good points. I guess I would rather re-sign Streif and Haralson, and go cheap WR in the draft.

Would love to have Britt on a one year deal. I'm also curious to see how Toon does this training camp and preseason. I think a lot of us thought he was turning the corner but then fell flat in his chance during the regular season.

I wouldn't be shocked to see the saints take two receivers in this deep draft, but I don't think it'll be in rounds 1 or 2 unless a player falls.

im all for drafting a WR or 2. 100%

but we definitely need to bring in a veteran or 2 as well. And at least kick the tires during camp and preaseason

Morgan, Meachem, and Moore are out there. Could see any of them back on the cheap. I don't see anyone oogling after them.

For any of the bigger WR names left (James Jones, Emmanuel Sanders, Sidney Rice, Santonio Holmes, Britt, Miles Austin, etc), almost all have some caveat: injury bug, aging, character concern, performance dropoff, etc. Maybe a new body in but I doubt any that would cost more than what bringing any of the 3 Ms above back would be.

The only receiver I think we might try to sign that is left is miles Austin and put him in the lance Moore type role . I think Dallas ruin him and Bree's could fix him.

Dallas didn't ruin him, his hamstring did.
