Why? The Browns have had how many top ten draft picks? How's that worked out for them? Even though we'll be missing the playoffs I'd rather experience the excitement of winning over any form of losing. Here's to a strong finish to the 2015 season and building that success going into 2016!

Remember when the Bucs went 10-6 and proceeded to go back into futility?

Why

...because I want a higher draft position in every round next year.

And, I've watched the draft enough to see us not get the guy we want semi-frequently because the guy we wanted went a few picks before we were up.

I remember John Fourcade winning some meaningless games in 1989 and looking like a star, Bobby Hebert missing the entire 1990 season in a holdout with Jim Finks because Fourcade was the future of the Saints, and our first potential Super Bowl window being flushed down the toilet.

Actually I'm torn here. I think we should play for draft position. But then I could also see us missing out on a Pro Bowl linebacker so that we can get a third left tackle or cornerback who is inactive his entire rookie season.

We had no real SB window, Bobby Hebert wasn't quarterbacking a SB team.

You're probably right, but we'll never know. And the 3 draft picks we subsequently flushed down the toilet with the 1990 season to get Steve Walsh didn't help.

The Browns drafted Trent Richardson third overall.

That's why their drafts haven't helped.

The Pats, Seahawks, Steelers, and several other teams showcase annually the depth and talent of the draft. In theory you could prevent those teams from selecting their players by removing them from the board. It may seem like more pressure to the mentally weak organizations seeking an excuse to validate why those players were not available....however for the teams that know what to look for draft positioning is just another means to acquire talent not an excuse to avoid the potential to add it altogether.

What about the Raiders? They have Carr, Cooper, and potential player of the yr Kahil Mack. Surely the Saints couldn't use any of those guys. Let's win out and get another Jamal Brown

What kind of participation trophy generation thinking is this...

we lost while competing for all of our goals this season, but once we were eliminated from post season contention and established a winning streak against teams that have nothing to play for then we could turn our terrible season into a playoff season the following year based on these diluted results???

Wait...whiskey tango foxtrot...STFU. We suck and need to get better. The fact that the fans have identified a proven way that makes teams better and it contradicts the goals remaining for a team that no one cares about anymore because it can not attain a meaningful goal it makes everyone that supports the original team's mission and its future terrible fans.

That same line of thinking would have kept Aaron Brooks at QB and we never would have had the no.2 pick in a certain draft. Yeah starting Bouman I am sure was in our Franchise's best interest in terms of winning games in 05. You are wrong and you know it...you didnt even bother to prove your point outside of pointing reference to the worst franchise in the NFL....people used to reference Oakland the same way too...until oh wait look at that...they nailed a draft.

In this particular draft, who is worth losing out for?

Is really any franchise changers here?

If anything the saints should acquire more picks in a similar fashion to last season and get sound football players in each round like they did.

It'll work itself out no matter

That's an AWFUL example to use. Jammal Brown made 2 Pro Bowls over his 4 healthy seasons as a Saint.

I just want to enjoy the rest of the year. It's a long off season. This year hasn't been a whole lot of fun. I'd like to remember what it's like to win.

And the saints going 7-9/8-8 in 07-08 before the 09-11 run happened.
