Why wait until then to blow a call? Why not call a phantom hold on the saints to prevent them from getting into FG position on that drive?

Also, why not make sure the Rams have home field throughout the playoffs by calling games in their favor during the season?

I’m not sure I understand the logic behind why the NFL wants the Rams in the Super Bowl over the Saints.

It was a blown call, and it was bad, but it really doesn’t make sense that this is some grand conspiracy.

I’ve never been a conspiracy theorist, but yes I believe a billion dollar business did what they needed to do for their own financial interest. Happens all the time.

I don’t have any reason to believe the NFL wouldn’t do it if it were in their best interest, but it just doesn’t make sense here.

What does the NFL gain from having the Rams in the SB over the Saints?

And again, if the refs had directives to make sure the Rams won, they had plenty of opportunities to change the game with a phantom hold here or there.

Because the NFL has wanted a market in LA for a long time and now they’re trying to further build the market.

I need someone to convince me that it wasn’t intentional instead of it just being a blown call. It was too obvious and right in front of two officials so explain that.

Huh? WHY THE frick DO YOU THINK THEY ALLOWED HOLDING ALL GAME by rams? The first missed DPI? that most likely cost us points? The phantom timeout after saints had stopped them on a third down which eventually cost us points? The final missed DPI? The missed helmet to helmet in OT? Did you even watch the game? It was blatant missed calls all game that would have been called in a second in the regular season. The whole
Game was a sham. When all those calls go against you it’s almost impossible to overcome it. See LSU-auburn 2006.

It is not my responsibility to prove the woeful actions of the officiating crew as that responsibility belongs to their employer.

As a fan I pay good money and am owed an accounting.

In the absence thereof one can reasonably assume something was remiss given the history of the Commissioner.

All those “blown calls” and they just let the Saints march in the FG range to kick what should have been the game winning FG?

Wouldn’t it make more sense to call a penalty on the Saints during that drive to stop them from getting in FG range?

You don’t understand the motivation behind attracting the 2nd largest television market in the United States, as well as the revenue behind The Rams being a successful franchise?

Not just the Rams, any team with a new stadium. Owners have an interest in getting teams with new stadiums into the big game. It benefits them when it comes time for them to push for their own new stadium.

Yep. Goodell helps owners make money. They know LA is a risky market. The rams and raiders have left that city before. But LA is a big market. He wants it to survive this time.

I used to think just like you but it’s time to wake up. A player getting absolutely wrecked helmet to helmet a full second before the ball arrives in front of two officials just doesn’t get “missed”.
