I think Fleener will do very well. But, the bigger issue is that this past year has shown that any decent TE will thrive in this offense. This team's success will be determined by how well it allocates the money that it has available...in large part because of how poorly it has done that in recent past.
Tight End is one of the positions that we really could get away with not spending money on, IMO.

That's a lot for him but that's what the deal is this offseason.
He has the upside to be a star in this offense. I'm interested to see the real numbers on this contract.

That's the problem here. We're paying for future production apparently cause he hasn't done dick in indy. Terrible catch rate in a pass happy offense.

That's my point. Nothing against Fleener as a player. I just think the Saints probably outbid themselves. Just too much to pay for a position that isn't crucial to winning.

TE is critical and he is way more vertical than Watson plus has better length in red zone
