Yep, I was just thinking about that too. It was horrible, lol. Like a man playing against little boys. He's still only 28 though. Not young but in his prime.

Does a weight problem have a direct effect on his desire to stay in shape, work ethic, and be at his best physically? If you are too big for the NFL, you probably are not conditioning the way you are suppose to.

I'll be pissed if we don't sign a FA guard.

I said "admittedly for weight issues," which does show a lack of effort. But he was demoted for it (which would really frick up anyone with a terrible attitude) but he still played well, despite a demotion AND with being overweight.

Chester (former Falcon), Jahri, and Grubbs look to be the best cheap options left.

Really wanted Mike Harris. He re-signed with the Vikings for 1yr/$1.8m.

Schwartz will probably cost too much.

Last offseason he actually lost too much weight.

"I was actually concerned about Nick's weight being on the low side," St. Louis coach Jeff Fisher said during a press conference this week. "Nick's changed his lifestyle, changed his diet. We're trying to get some weight back on him right now, and he's done it. He's worked hard the last couple of weeks. He's doing fine. His conditioning level is fine. If he's going to compete with our guys up front, he's going to have to run, and he knows that."

During training camp for the 2014 season, the former Auburn standout hired a personal chef to help address some of the questions the Lions had about his weight and conditioning. Before that happened, Detroit had demoted Fairley to the second-team defense. After the changes, Fairley was back in the starting lineup in time for the opening game.

That's good to know. His overweight issues were in 2012/13.

It looks like he's matured to me. He's had a good attitude about being a backup for the past 2-3 seasons. I hope we can get him on a fringe-starter contract and unleash the dragon in a full time role.

Do you know if he left without an offer or if he stayed another night?

I just don't see him signing for a cap friendly deal with other teams trying to land him as well. We will see.

Rotoworld says that the Rams want to bring him back "at the right price", but that we're the only team that he's visited. If both teams are willing to offer him the same kind of contract, I'd imagine that he'd go to the team that he knows he'll start for in hopes of getting a better final contract in his early 30's.

I know he left earlier in the day, but I do not know how likely a deal is or isn't.

Nick Fairley - DL - Free Agent The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports the Rams are only interested in re-signing DT Nick Fairley "at the right price." It appears they might get it, as Fairley has made only one visit eight days into free agency. He was in New Orleans on Thursday. The Saints are amongst the most cap-strapped teams in the league. Fairley was effective in 2015, but a rotational player behind Aaron Donald and Michael Brockers. Related: Rams Source: Jim Thomas on Twitter Mar 17 - 7:44 PM

I'm good with giving him a shot , dude has Game ...We need a play maker at DT... He can make our option of best avalible player on Defense when picking #12 an easier call.

He will sign a contract.
He will cash the check.
He will "disappear".

Like Laurinatis he is a player with questions. Clearly talented, he is worth a risk IMO. It all boils down to at what price? As bad as this defense has been I am happy for change almost just for change sake.

I would like to see a vet guard signing but they have regularly pushed guys into OL roles that I didn't see coming. You can get very good guard candidates in the 2nd to 5th Rd of the draft too.

I agree, but as a rotational player with a very questionable work ethic, I don't think he's worth much.

Judging by the minimal interest he's gotten from other teams, I think my opinion is probably in majority.

Vet minimum, plus $100 in McDonald's gift cards.

Keep dreaming. Have you paid attention to the contracts free agents are getting with the increased cap? He will not sign for the minimum.

i think he's matured from his younger days, you can't just assume what a kid does at 23 he'll do at 28.
