All of the people wanting to "get rid" of Brees are completely insane. He is not only still one of the 5 best QBs in the league, but the best player in the history of this historically inept franchise.

That said, you still can't ignore the fact that he has committed some absolutely back-breaking turnovers not just this year, but especially this year. To me, he is today's version of Brett Favre. He has so much confidence in his ability (and rightfully so) that at times he is going to make a horrible play. But with that horrible play or two comes the 12-15 absolutely brilliant plays he makes during games. Those aren't recognized as much as the 1-2 horrible plays because we fans have become so accustomed to how great a player he really is. He makes the exceptional look routine week in and week out

If he literally looses us a game with a stupid interception thrown at the worst possible moment while we have a lead, then he deserves to have those 1-2 horrible plays scrutinized. That's how football works. It has nothing to do with "fans have become so accustomed to how great a player he really is".

So these stats count as garbage yards and inflate his number, but it's the end of the work when our D gives up those type of numbers at the end of games

Precisely. Some of these people just like to complain.

I swear if I was in a foxhole with some of these guys, I'd shoot them first then take my chances alone vs. the enemy..

the comparison of drew and brett wrangles my mind. Brett was wild, gun slinger, did crazy shite. drew is precise, measured, tries to create things a bit but usually relies upon the system and calculated success.

Yes, he threw 1 interception in a game where he was pressured over 40% of his dropbacks

Four weeks ago:

"We are four plays away from being 8-1"

Now:

"Let's not focus on that one play, look at everything that happened in its entirety."

Uh, it is certainly taken into account when judging his performance.

Not sure why 2 non-competing thoughts amuse you at all, but then again you weren't able to comprehend the unbelievably simple concept 4 weeks ago

Lately, they have been. I was on the "arm dying" train for a while, and I still hold that he had lost "some" zip on his throws. No one can deny he had been short arming a lot the last couple of seasons. But he's been money lately.

Sounds to me like rebuilding a new OL this offseason may be the difference in becoming a top 2 team or not. The only Elite QBs without a top Oline are Brees and Rodgers. Only difference is Rodgers is just on another level than anyone else right now.

I don't agree. Change your username, if you think him forcing throws due to a shitty offensive line.
