His arm strength is gone though, right?

Just shows you how bad we are as a unit. To have that type of rating and a go 3-4 is bad. Poor coaching, awful defense, mediocre special teams.

Hopefully we turn it around after Sunday's performance.

But, but shell!

People were upset when he threw the check down on 3rd and 8 the other day for 3 yards. I'll admit, I was very puzzled, but then I realized Drew was just taking care of the ball and not forcing throws like he was earlier in the year. He's taking what the defense gives him and taking care of the ball. If he can avoid the interceptions, and not give the other team a short field, we can be pretty hard to beat if we can play any kind of defense or special teams. Even though the line wasn't great this past weekend, the offense was much better IMO.

Yes, we should definitely get rid of the best QB in the league and the best player in Saints history, period.

Some of the opinions on this board just baffle me.

ETA: Not talking about anyone in this thread, but some of the comments in game threads this season.

He also has a lot of garbage time stats from getting skull fricked by the bengals and ravens. It's his dumb arse turnovers that have this team at the record they are. Except for Cincy and Dallas where we were completely dominated.

So it is his fault the ravens scored 27 against our defense?
What garbage time stats are you talking about in the bengals game?

He really doesn't

Anyone who blames him for the Ravens loss is an absolute idiot.

So you're an absolute idiot.

Drew Brees gave up a pick 6 against the ravens that put the nail in the coffin. While he didn't lose the game all by himself that definitely hurt the saints chances if winning. His last 80 yards and td in that game were against a prevent def. he is still top 5 in the league we just need less interceptions.

Yes, he threw 1 interception in a game where he was pressured over 40% of his dropbacks. He had a lower interception rate in that game than he has in his career...

His performance prevented a blowout. They ran for almost 9 ypc, shut down our run, and had constant pressure.

DB is a scrappy player. Sometimes scrappy players get burned by trying to do too much. On good days you come back and win a game you had no business winning. On bad days you force one into tight coverage and get picked off. IMO his personality with the ball is what makes him an elite QB. Look at QBs who everyone agrees is elite - Brett Favre, Joe Montana, John Elway, John Unitas, they all had that self-motivation to put a game on their shoulders and go out and win it. Without it you have Joe Flacco, Troy Aikman, or Terry Bradshaw - who all are pretty damn good but they are/were game managers who will throw the ball away instead of taking a sack.

Exactly. His sack % when pressured is under 10. Going into the Pitt game, he had the 2nd most pressures in the NFL.

Pressures went up, mistakes went up. If he wasn't that type of player, we'd be a pathetic offense this year

Duh.

He has no time, no line, and dogshit playcalling to work with. But he's still top 4 in the league.

As a result, he feels the need to do everything himself. Which is why we end up with the unbelievably stupid game losing picks.

So these stats count as garbage yards and inflate his number, but it's the end of the world when our D gives up those type of numbers at the end of games (Not claiming you said this, just pointing out the hypocritical nature of a lot of this fan base).

FYI, I don't think it counts as garbage yards when the team still has a chance to win. Had they recovered the insides kick, I believe they had 30-45 seconds to go down and try and get the game tying TD.
