there's a slight difference in their contracts there, chiefy.

Hint: It's over $11 million

That would be the Browns problem.

They can't all have the skins on the wall like Joe Morgan, Josh Morgan, Brandon Coleman, Willie Snead, Seantavious Jones, and Nick Toon.

He wouldn't be making that here if the Browns cut him.

I don't think anyone is suggesting to bring him in for a big contract.

They're talking about bringing him in for a #3 or #4 and adding depth

Even last year, he was, at worst, average.
We only need 5th string receiver anyway.

Would you bring a guy like him in who will catch 18 passes all year and be inactive for 1/3 of the season, or do you give Jones the spot and hope that he gets better? Bowe will never improve.

I don't know. Depends on how healthy and good bowe looks in the workout. I don't think we'd lose Jones on the practice squad

No one knows what he has left, but I don't think it would be terrible to kick the tires

True but having another veteran in case somebody(notably Colston) goes down wouldn't be the worse thing. That's basically the thinking behind Josh Morgan getting a spot.

He's like a year younger than Colston. Even at a vet minimum (IF he gets cut and IF he's willing to sign for that) it's significantly more pricey than what we have. I'd honestly rather see if one of these young WRs can emerge for us.

But the vet minimum comes with a cap exception...

quote:

When qualified, a player with more than four or more years of NFL experience can earn his total minimum salary, but have a cap figure that reflects two years of experience – or in 2015, $585,000. The contract must be for only one year, and must not contain combined bonus money (signing, roster, workout) that exceeds $65,000.

So it would be a difference of around $100k if Jones is on a minimum

The sand taste good I guess. I don't think our WR corp is "very iffy" at all. Colston,Cooks and Snead are not "iffy" in the least. Our TE's are good and the battle for 5th WR is very close. Oh and Coleman caught everything last night.

I would be willing to bet that if Austin Pettis got cut tomorrow a "should we" thread gets made minutes after it happens.

Dude this is tigerdroppings what on earth do you expect? Id venture to say 65% of Saints fans are huge/diehard LSU fans and another 10-15% at least pull for the Tigers.
