I remember alot of talk about him when he was drafted. Worth a pickup/practice squad add as depth for spiller?

He's explosive but Murphy can do everything he can and is also a lot more durable . Archer is 170 lbs soaking wet man.

We already have Spiller. I think Archer would be better in our system than he was at Pittsburgh. I wouldn't mind cutting Murphy and having him as a back up in case something happens to Spiller. It's not like Murphy is any good.

and Dri Archer is good? At least Murphy has had a TD in his career and actually done well on special teams. Archer has done shite.

Archer has done absolutely nothing in the NFL and weighs about 30 lbs less than Spiller. The dude gets tackled so easily. I'll take Murphy.

So what's impressing you more, his 24 yard average kick return (42nd in the NFL), his 10 yard average punt returns (14th in the NFL), his 2 fumbles or the fact that he doesn't play any snaps on offense?

I haven't kept up with Archer. The fact he got cut certainly suggest he's not that good. I guess he could be worse than Murphy. But he can't be that much worse because Murphy ain't that good.

A team who is thin at RB just cut a RB and youre asking if we should take him? Just think about it for a min

5 of the guys in front of him only have 5 or fewer returns. He's more like the 9th best punt return man in the NFL. The fumbles are a problem but there's no way you dump him for Archer.

his 24 yard average kick return

Archer has a career 22.4 average on kick returns. He has one career punt return for 2 yards. He averages 4 yards per carry (on 10) and 3.3 per reception.

Dont want to drop murphy. Just saying we could add him to the practice squad as an insurance policy on spiller. Although Murphy could also fill that role

Dude just said that the player that helped us beat the Giants isn't good.

So you believe he fumbled on purpose? Look, I'm not saying Murphy is a scrub or Archer is great. Just saying Murphy doesn't bring much to the table. He's average at best and has brough nothing, zip, zilch to the offensive side of the ball.

Two fumbles already. Average at best stats. No big plays. The return game needs to be upgraded in the offseason.

Archer averages 3.7 yards per touch on 17 offensive touches. And who cares if he brings nothing to the offense? He's our 4th RB. Tons of NFL teams have guys that play special teams and offer little to nothing on offense or defense.

His punt return numbers are well above average.

He has a 74 yard return TD.

Isn't kr /pr one of those stats where the rankings are all within a yard or two of one another?

That was in the preseason. If he can't provide any worthwhile depth and is a pure return man, he needs to be better than average. At least Roby and Lewis ran routes to give WRs a breather even if they didn't catch many passes. How many teams carry a 4th string running back?

Not by much. #10 in punt returns. #42 in kickoff returns. Not to mention his fumbles. Not that great.

The last fumble was a fluke fumble and a better special teams play than his deficiencies. When it comes to special teams, it's about a returner that helps or hurts your team. Murphy has helped a shite ton more than hurt us. He made a good return to set us up for a chance to win.

Yes it is for the most part.

If everyone thinks he's great, that's fine. I'll agree to disagree. I just don't think he's all that good.

Teams don't cut their third round pick that quickly very often at all

and Murphy has been very good for us
