Look at the difference in velocity and overall athleticism/ability to throw on the run. I believe Drew is still an elite QB and will get another ring in New Orleans, but anyone who truly believes he hasn't lost a considerable amount of arm strength needs to get their eyes checked. Also look how far we've come in terms of video definition.

09 arm

16 arm

He's really adapted though and it hasn't seemed to impact his production much unless it's 3rd and long, then we are pretty much out of luck. Bottom line is, we are running out of time. Time to get it done in 17!

Go to 0:32 vs cowboys. That is a rocket

Both arms look good to me. I think our receivers in Snead and Thomas lack separation like Henderson got so Brees puts a little air under it to drop in there.

I am excited to have Kamara in the Bush role.

As long as he's still making good decisions and accurate throws he's fine.

Peyton Manning won a superbowl with damn near a broken neck and a noodle arm.. because he had a defense

Sean and Loomis need to stop bullshitting and build a defense to give this first ballot HOF QB one more run at a title

There's 7 football years of 4k+ yards per year between them dumbass. Of course he has lost some zip Captain obvious.

Agreed. He won't be able to carry the team like he did from 06-12. Instead though, they were gonna try and draft a project QB at 11

You'd have to be crazy to believe a 35 year old guy has the same athletic gifts he had when he was 25. That said the more important question is "does it matter?" I think you answered that with the second half of your post. No it does not.

It actually does matter in that he's not capable of making some of the plays he used to be able to......He could role out under pressure, quickly set his feet, and throw a 50 yard laser and hit a guy in stride a la Aaron Rodgers. He can't do that anymore.

Also, it's 31 vs 37. Not 25 vs 35.

Cooks was worth more than the 32nd. Saints got screwed on that trade.

A bit off topic but it's almost criminal that he didn't get league MVP in 09

But he also drops in some dimes

If anything these videos show a more patient passer in '16, as well as him being mindful of having younger receivers. You can't fling bullets in every situation, but I've seen him put some velocity when he needs to. Also, the age of throwing the seam route over and over is long gone. Saints exploited the Cover 2 big time.

How about a link to the critical picks he threw in 2016?

There's some drop off but it's not nearly as drastic as what you think or make it out to be. Having said that, he can last longer and be more effective later in the season if we run the ball more and not have him sling it 50 times a game. Those need to be limited. Not because he can't do it, but because it will help less the stress on his arm as he gets older.

It's time to transition to a more balanced approach because it will help save his arm for when he truly does hit a decline
