Yup he’s not worth that much. Outplayed by Keenum, Goff and now Cousins the last 3 playoffs.

Take a pay cut or GTFO, nerd.

Hmm, maybe he wouldnt have fumbled it trying to throw it away. Perhaps Teddy wouldve just taken the fricking sack right?

Blatantly false. He was at worst, even with all of them. Probably better than a couple really. Look, I get people are angry, and Drew did not play up to his usual HoF standard that we’ve seen even in recent weeks. But all 3 of these were TEAM losses, no one person. As a matter of fact, all 3 ended with the defense giving up points not the offense getting stopped.

Brees needs to take a cut if he wants to win another SB for the betterment of the team, but make no mistake...he’s still a crucial part in doing so. To think otherwise is naive at best.

He’s 41. If he wants another Super Bowl he’d be smart to sign for 10-15 and free up some space. He’s made a ton of money. He’s probably got 2 years left.

If Brees gets 25-30 from the saints then screw his legacy.

Take it easy, everybody.

When it comes to this issue, fans need to be especially careful because it is very complicated and the facts are not easy to find.

Carefully determine all facts. Identify areas in which speculation cannot be avoided. Derive logical conclusions therefrom.

Leave. Emotion. Out. of. the. Equation.

Doesn't Brees salary cap cost $15.9 Mil for 2020? If he gets $25 Mil for 2020 and 2021, and spreads the cap hit over 2 years, then Saints will pay him $25+$8M=$33mil for each year.
That's a big hit. How much can Saints afford for the rest of the team?
Would Brees give a discount and take $20M per year or decide to retire?

Brees dead cap money is $21M for 2020. Brees may not asked to be the highest paid QB but his agent will.

Maybe he would have, maybe he wouldn’t. You don’t know. But what we do know is Bridgewater hasn’t done as well under pressure compared to Brees. So in all likelihood he would’ve folded harder than Brees did.

WhetherQB or coach, I always ask who do they have in mind to replace him? It’s not so easy.

All those guys listed are younger and have long careers ahead of them.

Brees is great but on the tail end of his career. I don’t think this team wins a Super Bowl with him next year at that salary and will have to give up important pieces to pay him. On top of it, they will be hamstrung in the future to make his salary fit in the coming years.

So instead of building a future team, they will likely lose a home playoff game again next year and then be in an even worse spot.

Brees ain't bringing in no championship. Dude is washed and limited to what he can do on the field. He should not be paid more than 20 million a year. 30 million is top tier and Brees is no longer that.

Teddy Bridgewater(5-0),

Listen people, Bridgewater played 90% of the Rams game. I don't care if he was thrown in, he is a previous starting quarterback that's been in our system for over a year at that point. To me he's 5-1.

Not Brees. This version of Brees maiming 25 mil or more will not result in sniffing a Super Bowl. If we are to make on more run, the structure has to change. Mike Thomas has Drew Brees money now. I’d rather start over than be a wild card team next year and kick salary problems down the road.
