That here our best coach ever is going out of his way trying to make sure he's not stuck here alone with that lesbo? Is she truly like diaz in any given sunday? Why would he not want to work for her? Will that be setting precedent for all the other good coaches? It's a little disturbing when you think about it. HOw much longer is ole tom gonna live? That dudes gotta croak within 5 years huh?

I missed the rumour, elaborate?

And she is a wild card IMO. We don't really know what's going to happen until she takes office. So yes I worry a bit, especially after she was suspended.

It's a legit issue. When you reach the apex of your pay grade and have other options WHO you work for becomes a bigger issue. He knows as long as Loomis is at the helm he'll be fine. There's no situation that there's not enough money to remedy though. Guaranteed money, Loomis extension, etc... I have high confidence that Benson will make this happen.

Interesting. The problem is the league rejected the provision, not the team, so if that's a deal breaker for Payton...

If it's a legit issue, then would there be a simlar issue in Jerry World. Losing CSP would suck ballz, but who we lose him to would be a difference for me. If we lost him to the Iggles, I think I could deal with it better. But everytime a Cowboy fan would say "we got your coach!" i'd want to stab them in the throat.

Who would be worse to work for? Rita or Jerry?

Really we don't have enough knowledge to truly answer that. But Payton did enjoy his time in Dallas.

It's more about assurance Loomis being there. Payton wants to know that he won't have to deal with someone else coming in that he might have conflict with. It might be as simple as giving him veto power in the case there was a new GM. Loomis might have some opportunity to bolt for something he liked more (can't really imagine) as much as Rita coming in and wanting to change things. Hell, Benson could put a provision in his will and how the successorship for the Saints should work.

A friend of mine who works for the Saints and runs a couple of their outreach programs called her unstable. Said she's nuttier than Planters. Take it FWIW.

As long as Loomis and Brees are here, Payton will be. We lose one or the other ill go into full panic mode.

Under Parcells. He may have been a type of buffer. You compare Rita to Diaz in Any Given Sunday. Couldn't you make the same comparison with Jerry? I know we only outsiders POV, but wouldn't you think that Jerry would suck to work for.

Side not - I would have loved to have been a fly on the wall when JJ was locked out of the locker room.

well jerry wants to win and will do anything for that goal. diaz wanted the team to suck so she can move the team.

except stop being a controlling dickhead, hire a dedicated GM, and allow his coaches free reign over their players.

all everyone talks about is how much talent dallas has... who do they think gets that talent there?

fair point and he should act like a GM if he wants to do just that. He also wants to act like head coach as well... thats the issue.

this was more of my point. I see CSP as being the type of guy saying "my players are my players and will be coached my way" and I see Jerry saying "biotch please"

She didn't want the team to suck. But she did want to move them.

And yes, this is a legit concern of mine. This lady will be in charge of the two biggest professional sports teams in Louisiana. Now that's scary
