Does Payton have a rebuild in him?

For some reason he has a reputation for developing QBs. Not really sure where that came from. His entire HC career he has had Drew Brees and not developed another QB to take his place or even one that goes on to be great somewhere else. Now that Brees is done, does Payton have the ability and wherewithal to build a new dynasty? With the cap constraints and his seemingly never ending rivalry with the league I think the answer is probably no. Would be nice, but it was a fund ride while it lasted.

My opinion is that the Saints need a GM who knows how to build an NFL roster, but, I would be reluctant to fire Sean Payton.

Of course, some have argued that Mr. Ireland is skilled at building an NFL roster, so, perhaps the GM is not needed.

I bet you any team that was going into rebuilding mode would take him as hc in less than a heartbeat.

He developed Tony Romo and made it to the SB with Kerry Collins.

I would like to see Jameis get a game or two in the system late in the year.

He had Drew Brees for 14 years and only won one Super Bowl.

Yeah, it really is a shame Drew hasn't been better on the defensive side of the ball all these years.

Payton is a proven top 5 coach in the league. Post Brees will not be a full rebuild as some like to claim. I’m concerned about finding a new franchise QB but our OL and skill positions look really good for years to come. ST too for that matter

We need to find a QB who Payton can develop, and improve the defense obviously, but the future is not as dark as some imagine. We’ll see what happens but the smart choice is to role with Payton as long as he’s willing.
