Anyone want to say that beating 3 HOF QB's in the playoff's didn't make feeling the Super Bowl any sweeter?

maybe not sweet, but people sure as shite love to say that the Saints beat 3 HOF qb's in a row. It absolutely means more to beat guys like that rather than a scrub QB.

Well, maybe this will ensure that the focus of the game is where it belongs... on the world champions returning home to the dome to start a new season.

And NOT on Brett Favre.

Remember the NFC Championship game? The m-f'ing NEW ORLEANS SAINTS are one game away from going to the Super Bowl, and all the national media wants to talk about is Brett Favre possibly going to the Super Bowl?

The national media couldn't have missed the mark on what was more important in a million years. The national audience STILL doesn't get what's happening right now on Airline Drive, and that's even after a Super Bowl win. Does anyone who knows Drew Brees and Sean Payton really think they are done with what they are building?

agreed.

but, b/c of the media lovefest with Favre i guarantee that most fans were looking forward to toruncing him in week 1.

I am a little disappointed. Him playing increased our chance of winning the home opener.

absolutely not.

I want the win first and foremost so we can start out by defending our SB championship 1-0. Without Farve, the vikes offense cannot keep up with Brees at home...especially on opening night...after dropping the banners.

Favre has been THE most talked about opposing player on the Saints entire schedule this offseason on this board.

yeah, because they are tired of the media circus with the guy.

it's not like there is some natural rivalry there with him or the Vikings.

you are just lying when you say that this changes nothing.

Explain what it changes. Im not following you.

you really wouldnt understand unless you were a Saints fan. Trust me. It's no big deal to any of us. maybe nationally, but not locally.

Yeah, no shite. it doesn't matter why people care or talk about him, but they do.

it doesn't mean it diminishes the game.

i dont know why you think people would lie about it.

there are about 10 different things i care about on that day before Brett Favre or even the Vikings come into the picture.

B/C they think admitting anything is somehow a knock on the Saints, and it's not. Insecurity i suppose.

does beating Favre mean we get the tie breaker when it comes to the playoffs?

you cant be serious.

like I said, you really don't understand if you think that.

nationally...sure

locally....not a chance. this game is going to be awesome regardless if Favre is the QB or Brad Childress himself takes snaps

I am comprehending perfectly dude.

you are saying the game is going to be huge, but will be diminished because Favre isnt playing. If you want to look at it that way, then sure.

its like your favorite block of cheese has a needle point sized piece of mold on the end. Does that really affect the cheese at all? no. Does it affect the taste of the cheese any? no. But was it there? yes.

You cut if off and eat the rest of the cheese. You could always argue that the mold was there, and you would be right, but no one is going to give a crap.
