I root for South Alabama in CFB. They are a newcomer to the Sun Belt this year but the crowds at Ladd Stadium will probably still be pretty sparse. That is the same stadium that the Senior Bowl is played at in Mobile, Al.
I never got into the Alabama or Auburn thing even though most people here are obsessed with it.
As far as the Saints go, their games were on every Sunday here on TV since I was a kid. I've always been fascinated with pro football more than college. Even though my step dad was a huge Alabama and college football fan, he would still take me to a few Saints games each year when I was a kid.
I think most people in the Mobile area pull for the Saints but the level of interest isn't as high as it is for college football. I can't really strike up a lot of conversations with people here about the Saints.
I try and read this board everyday so I can keep up with what is going on with the team.

LSU first of course, then the Saints.
My #2 team this year is Penn State - rising from the ashes. I also want ULL to do well.
For the pro's, last year it was Denver with Tebow, but I really, really don't like the Jets. So I'll just root for Tebow individually.

TigersforEver I am definitely conflicted on PSU this year. Part of me wants to see them burn to the ground and go 0 - 12 for the next 10 years and never return to the college football elite. It's going to take a long time for me not to look at them as a school that protected a pedophile for the sake of image.
With that said, part of me also believes that PSU was unfairly punished and that the NCAA was out of control in their dealing with the situation. I am worried that the NCAA has set a very dangerous precedent. I mean what if a Coach distorts money from the university, or kills someone? Does the university and the football team get punished for that now? Part of me does want to see PSU succeed because of what those players have gone through this off season, not unlike what has happened to the Saints.
I think once the season starts and I watch part of a PSU game I'll probably be able to figure out which way I'll lean.
On the lighter topic of sports, I will say with Tom Benson being involved in the Hornets now I see myself cheering more for them. Living in Orlando the last few years I've gone back and forth with whether I wanted to see the Hornets or Magic do better, but at this point I'm leaning towards the Hornets. It's funny because with football I prefer the NFL over college but in terms of basketball I prefer college over the NBA. Really I would say football is the only sport that I prefer professional over collegiate. With that said, I'm a sports nut in general, if I'm bored and it's on I'll watch it. :)

Not really, but I tend to root for Cleveland or Miami if it ain't the Saints. Browns because a neighbor of mine played for them back in the day, Miami? I just like the city and I used to live in Florida, but born and raised in Louisiana.
Not for LSU(football). Only if you count Southeastern(alum). But I will root for SELU if they play the Tigers in baseball or basketball. Ain't worried about them playing them in football. Doubt it happens and it would be way too ugly.

I somehow missed your Bills comment. My wife is from Buffalo, so I kind of follow them and I want for them to do well. It was fun talking shite with my brother in law a couple years ago...
But if the Saints don't win the SB, the Bills would be the team I want to see do it.

Oh, and my college team is Tulane. So when the Saints lose, I'm getting on line to see how Jesuit did on Friday night in order to redeem my weekend.

Dude, we should resurrect that Jesuit thread.

The week of January 9-15, 2012 (Monday-Sunday) was one of the worst weeks I've ever experienced in my life.
And the events that have followed throughout both the Saints' and the Tigers' off-seasons have been amazingly bad.
Dying for some serious payback for both teams!!!

LSU is #1. If they lose, it hurts. Avoid ESPN and anything else showing highlights.
Love the Saints and it pisses me off when they lose but I still watch the other games and get over it pretty easily, until playoff time. At that point, it hurts just like when LSU loses.
Basically comes down to the fact tha in college 1 loss can end your championship hopes. That's not the case in the NFL until the playoffs.

Pat 0 says never a LSU fan. You must be a Tulame fan then. A real New Oleanian. Not many of your breed around. Back in the last century many a New Orleans raised Arisocrat dispised cow town.

I love fall and winter just because of LSU on Saturdays, and Saints on Sunday. Diehard for both. LSU losses hurt 10Xs worse than Saints losses cuz of the one loss ends your season. But no fallback teams for college. I like watching any game but don't really pull for any specific team.
As for the Saints, hate to see em lose but don't truly get devastated until the playoffs. Only loss that hurt worse than the 49ers lose was to Bama.
But with everything that happened this offseason, can't wait to watch my teams whoop arse this year !!!
GEAUX TIGERS !!!! WHO DAT !!!!

The Bama game you knew LSU would basically lose by half time.
The Saints game, even after 5 turnovers, was a battle. I've never seen a game sway emotions like that, especially seeing them overcome 5 turnovers to take the lead in the closing minutes, only to lose it in the last seconds. That to me, is much more painful than seeing a team play like shite for an entire game and lose.

fuuuuuuuuck that
that LSU game didn't hurt a damn bit..it was a shitshow that just got worse and worse. I was pretty much ready for it to be out of its misery halfway through the 3rd.
The 9ers game is and should be the most devestating loss in franchise history. We very likely go to a 2nd SB in 2 year time span if we hold on.

I grew up a Bills fan before moving to Louisiana! I absolutely love the Bills and they never fail to break my heart. So for me it's:
1a) Bills
1b) Saints
If they day ever comes where they play each other in the Super Bowl, my head will explode. I'd pull for my Bills though. Until then,

Didn't realize there were so many Bills fans around here.
I grew up a diehard Bills fan as a kid. Used to stream the games online on WGR every Sunday. I still have a signed Jim Kelly mini helmet.
As an adult, the pride I have for my home state is why I'm a Saints fan now. But I still pull for Buffalo and now that the Saints have a championship, I still hope the Bills can win the Super Bowl once before Ralph Wilson dies, or they move to Toronto.
College football is my #1 passion though. I'm LSU obsessed and no one else. I do enjoy watching just about any matchup that's on though. Just a big fan of the college game.

I love how people cling to the fallacy that one loss ends your season in college football...
