bullshite. Our offense needs a major talent upgrade on the outside and line. The most misguided thinking on this board is that due to Brees we can continue to get by with subpar talent around him.

We should have traded for Josh Gordon then

Desean Jackson is about the same size. He isn't lasting till the 5th round with that speed

I realize that, but 3rd round? Come on.

FT98: I mean he's a rookie that wasn't a first rounder. Do you expect him to just come in and start? I'm hoping he challenges for a spot next year. Unless there's something I'm missing here...

Antonio Richardson was absolutely dominant today. Aside from a couple false start penalties, he was amazing. That's my 2 cents for this.

We do need to start replacing players on offense because age is showing. Oline should be top priority over anything else though. Then from there a #1 WR and possibly a RB to replace an aging Thomas/Sproles.

Id rather Jeremy Hill in the 3rd

I seriously doubt he lasts past the 2nd round. I don't care what his character issues are. He's a 1st-round talent somebody will take a chance on him. Wouldn't shock me to see him in the late 1st either. I guess it depends on his combine. He looks really fast in college once he gets to the second level. He's rarely caught from behind. I wouldn't be surprised if he was a 4.5 - sub 4.5 guy and if he is...cya.

Goodell age NFL favors guys like this. Considering defense should just be playing flag football these days it increases durability for small guys like this. You can barely tackle with a hard hit and avoid flags in modern NFL. I think guys like Beckham from LSU will have his stock soar at combine and they won't have many questions about his size because defense can't lay the wood on hits anymore. Perfect slot guy.

Lol pass on D'anthony.. We need a back that can grind out yards between the tackles w/ soft hands - think Arian Foster UDFA out of Tenn.

I'd much rather do whatever it takes to bolster both O and D lines. It all starts in the trenches.

A true #1 WR talent would be incredible, but as long as we pay Jimmy, continue to feed Sproles, and continue to develop the likes of Stills, Toon, and Morgan we do not need a true #1. If Drew had a running game and solid protection, these weapons match what we had in '09 and every other offensive juggernaut team we've ever had.

We can't pay Drew, Jimmy, and (overpay) our Oline and expect to have half of Calvin Johnson out wide. Just have to find value and develop it!

This defense has stepped up BIG time, and I hope we continue to add pieces to our (elite?) core of young players. Rob Ryan deserves as much credit as any for what this team can accomplish this year. Let's keep giving him talent to work with through the draft!

ok probably not top 15, but low first round IMO.

Him going in the 3rd is fricking ludicrous.

Take off the LSU glasses. RB is not a 1st round priority in the NFL draft anymore. There will probably only be one or two taken in the first round this year (maybe). The last one that was taken in the top 5 (Richardson) got traded after one season! That's how little of a priority RB is in today's NFL. A projection of round 2-3 sounds about right

I'm saying low first round is the highest for him but saying 3rd round is ludicrous. He's one of the best backs entering the draft this year if he goes.

They do have low value unless you can get a workhorse like Adrian Peterson with the total package. Those are rare in the NFL. AP is a power guy with speed and moves. I'm not saying Hill is on AP's level but he has power, moves and he looks really fast in college. If he has a good combine he could slip into the first even with character questions. Hill can grind short yardage with power, juke people out of their socks, get to top speed fast out of cuts, torch people in the second level and has shown soft hands. He's a complete back and shows he can carry the load in college. He's not a complimentary back.

The offense is getting to the point where there needs to be major overalls at several positions especially receiver. We have no receivers who can win against physical press man to man coverage. Even with Graham size & strength he is struggling with the use of his hands to create separation against press man. He's a beast when he gets a free release against off man or zone. The other receivers do a pretty good job against these same coverages but you can say that about pretty much any receiving corps league wide.

The offense really needs a big, physical, fast receiver who can beat press man to make defenses have to back out of it & open up the field for other receivers. I love Colston but it's obvious injuries & the numerous shots he's taken over the years have began to take their toll. Both he & Moore or on the wrong side of 30. Stills is the only WR who is showing he has a huge upside. Right now he looks like a much better & faster version of a young Lance Moore. Toon has been a disappointment so far & Meachem is still soft while having hands of stone.

The situation is at or nearing that point with Sproles & Thomas. Running by committee has limited their wear & tear but both are smaller backs. The effects will began to show on them quicker then it would for a back whose body could handle the pounding of toting the rock in the NFL. I think its already beginning to show with Sproles. He just doesn't seem to have the same explosion & burst that he did when he was first acquired. You can really notice this on his kickoff & punt returns.

There definitely needs to be someone drafted or signed in free agency to compete for the center position. DLP has struggled badly this year. So has Ben Grubbs. I think Evans play has just dropped off somewhat to battling injuries. He still should be good for a few more seasons.

The truth is the offense is beginning to signs of aging while the defense has taken a on youth movement. Its time for the offense to do the same.

what the hell are you talking about? He was rated as one of the top WR last year, and his stock fell because of horrible QB at cal and an injury that wouldn't let him participate in the combine. He would have been starting across from Colston

Thomas seems like a 6 or 7 play a game contributor like Dexter McCluster. I think you can wait and get somebody later who will pretty much do the same thing(Dri Archer).

If The Saints think Armstead is the future we draft a WR. If not we go LT

Tackle isn't the problem in this team, it's the interior line play. We need just a fricking mauler in the middle to help that run game and we haven't had that since Nicks left.

Also, it'd be pretty damn convenient if Armstead was ready to take over next year. Then if Brown tries to demand too much he can peace out.

With that said Payton has a history taking OG in the middle rounds 4th Evans, 4th Bushrod & 5th Nicks.

He could go WR,RB, the OG. Along with signing a C in free agency
