Watching his feature on "Path To The Draft", I've realized that the Saints need a player of his skill set. He's a true "clogger" type that is also a playmaker. Most say he has a 1st round grade. Do we take him if he's available at one of our picks?

If available at 13, definitely a talent worthy of real consideration no matter who else is available

He's a top 15 pick. Depending on how things shake out, he could be a great pick.

I'd argue he's a top 10 pick. Guy looks to be a stud for the next decade. We always needed a franchise dt, we've missed one for years

He's certainly a BPA pick to consider at 13.

I would love him at 13th also another big man at pick 31st as the good big man is the most rare body type to me in each years draft.

I love to have him on this team. He would free up the rest of the line for sure.

I like all of the defensive guys from UW.
Shelton
Peters
Thompson
Kikaha

Thompson is an awful tackler

Yep. When Bunkely went down last year, teams just started gashing up (even more) up the middle. I think Jenkins can be a good player, but I'm not sold on him.
An awesome NT would go a long way on this defense

When the reports were coming out that the team was expressing interest in moving up, I always assumed it would be to grab Shelton or Williams

It would really help out Cam Jordan. Junior may have had 15 sacks last year with an interior push. Hell, we probably sack Matt Ryan 5+ times in the first game

We need like 2 more front 7 "mother frickers". And all positions are of pretty much equal need of additional mother frickers.

And people were drooling over him for our pick at 13. Now he's not even mocked in the 1st RD in most publications

Leonard Williams or Danny Shelton as our early pick would work for me. The Saints need to build both lines in order to compete. Too bad our first pick isn't higher. Taking in consideration that we were swept by Atlanta, and they're still picking ahead of us is like a Goodell slap to the face...again.

It'd be nice to see him in the black and gold

Evaluators outside the NFL are inflating the evaluation of Washington DT Danny Shelton compared to the opinions many teams share, according to Tony Pauline.
"The love for Shelton in the outside world is not shared by decision-makers in war rooms, who feel he's a bit one-dimensional in his game," Pauline writes. We have been saying the same for quite sometime, but without citing the NFL's opinion. Shelton's Senior Bowl performance has been inflated, and he is not even close to the athlete many are comparing him to (Poe and Ngata). Shelton will have the most impact in a rotation and best when defending running plays. That is not to say he is a liability in the passing game, but sub-package rushers will be more effective. Josh Norris ranks Shelton as the No. 27 prospect in this draft.

Listening to Ross Tucker on NFL Radio this morning he had a scout/insider guy named Kyle Crabbs or something like that I think his name was and he made a few good kind of negative points/observations about Shelton...Said his 9 sacks in 2014 aren't as good as they seem because 6 of them came in the first two weeks of the season against lowly teams Eastern Washington and Hawaii......also said he seemed to be a little too excited at the combine when I think he weighed 343lbs, so he questioned whether or not he'll be able to keep his weight down as he gets a little bit older and whether or not he could be an every down guy at that weight
