What a good read, and I like how he mentioned Curtis Johnson. I'm glad we picked him back up!

Great read, And a even better player. Much respect to Marques Colston.

Great Read! I really miss Colston being in that receiver room. He proved that you didn't have to be a damn Diva in order be a great receiver. It's a damn shame that his body started breaking down on him

And I believe one of the knocks on him coming out of college was his attitude.

But the Divas are usually the ones who get new contracts

I like what he said about Moore too. That guy was severely underrated.
Snead is very similar in that he just runs routes the right way and finds that space in zone.
I know everyone likes to say Brees can make receivers, but he can only make receivers better (think of all the failures we've had; Brees can't turn everyone into a star).
If a guy isn't either physically gifted (Graham with size and Cooks with Speed) or a great route runner (Colston and Moore), Brees isn't going to turn him into anything.
But back on topic, it's still crazy how he never got a pro bowl nod and likely won't be in the hall of fame. The guy deserves so much more recognition than he got.
Damn shame his body gave out because he was so selfless going over the middle time and again.

You're confusing Diva with something else....hmmm

I think being a public distraction and bringing attention to yourself, opting out of a contract above your market value, and publicly switching to a vegan diet that costs you weight and hurts performance qualifies one as a diva

It is crazy about the ProBowl bc he was always one of the better WRs every year, he just couldn't get the national attention like the TOs, Dez Bryants...
In regards to the HoF, he will make the Saints HoF; but there is no way he should even be considered for the NFL HoF. I like him as much as the next Saintes fan, but he finished under 10k yards and 49th all-time in yards. He is 36th in TDs, but he only had 72.
In today's game you need 10k and/or 100TDs to have serious consideration.

No confusion here at all.
Sorry for the hijack and pic Bayou
Colston deserves much better!

Liked the part about Moore.
Saints always have a guy like that and hes always severely underrated, not utilized enough, their most consistent WR and has the best hands. Forget the physical attributes/measurables. They mean nothing if you dont catch the ball when it hits you in the hands...
Jerome Pathon - Lance Moore - Willie Snead.

I know Brees is clearly the best in terms of talent to ever don the black and gold, but Colston is my favorite Saint of all time.

Colston was a physical specimen fwiw. He was just kind of a tweener, size wise. I think he could have played in any system,
Moore not so much. Tho if he was coming into the league in 2017 he'd have a higher chance chance to succeed.

Yeah I didn't mean to make it sound like he wasn't. I was just pointing out those player's best attribute (on the field). But you can add size, toughness, hard worker, etc. to Colston. The guy had it all except blazing speed (and health at the end).

He ran 4.54 at 225 lbs. Maybe you didn't understand my point, but they guy checked every box physically

Im almost positive on the Yahoo fantasy league, they had Colston listed as a TE in 2006 lol
He was a physical freak man. Took a beating.
