NFLN draft recap.

He said we were 6 for 6 on the first 6 picks with taking the best player available and that those players filled needs.

Casserly had a tough job. Expansions are awful. He made them competitive pretty quickly and gave them an identity as a team that they have stayed true to even after he left.

I hate what happened to Carr but Houston had to win games and sell tickets. You can't sell tickets without a QB and you can't outscore Peyton Manning and the Colts when their offense was already championship caliber.

That was great. I wish they would've let them keep going at each other

Far too early to make judgements like this. This is something that won't be known for at least another 2-3 years down the road.

Yes but they don't pay analysts to say "I don't know the answer to your question, check back with me in 3 years"

I know. These articles are put out to stimulate post draft conversations. I get it. I was just stating the reality of the situation. We live in an in the moment society so these types of articles play to that mentality.

I agree with you, just saying that given he was going to answer the question anyway, I'm glad he said The Saints and not one of the other 31 teams

I agree, I thought this draft was a complete home run. To those who wanted Beckwith, hes a middle linebacker, we needed someone on the outside to fly around and potentially cover backs out the backfield.

Yeah this is Ellerbe's last year, so even if he stays healthy and Analzone has to take a redshirt IR year, we need an impact OLB for next year.

Yeah I think both make the 53. I just hope Analzone shows he can be a good replacement for Ellerbe.

I don't know if we're the most improved, but it's hard to argue with.

Honestly, how many players do you expect to add from the draft, going in? It's usually 2 or 3, with maybe another guy deep on the roster.

Totally disregarding Peterson and the pre-draft signings:
I say
Lattimore is starting opening day.
Williams and Hendrickson should see the field the first time the Saints line up in a pass defense package.
Kamara should be on the field at some point in the first half.
Ramczyck and Anzalone should rotate onto the field during game one, in their positions (not just special teams).

That's not even being overly optimistic, and saying anyone other than Lattimore wins a starting job in camp (which could happen). Those 6 guys will make the team and contribute, unless someone busts.

SIX new players.
What do we normally see- 2, 3? That's an impressive list.

And then you have the other few- Muhammed might stick, if he can get it together. If he doesn't, no big deal, but if he does, he's another Junior Gallette potential.

And then the UDFA-
Travin Dural jumps out. Timed at 4.66 before the draft, but there's a ton- an absolute TON- of game film that screams "legit 4.3 deep threat". Not one or 2 tantalizing highlights, but numerous examples from every game he played in. You take a chance on that, to see if he's able to get that back. If he plays like his film, he's got to be 3rd rd value, and fits into the Henderson/Cooks spot.
