Hey, I agree. Just saying that's what pops out to my eyes. No one is giving Matt Ryan less grief on here though because his defenses sucked massively in the playoffs!

Man, is it football season yet?!

Haha, shut it! I'm the 1st one on the "our playoff record sucks" bandwagon. What else is there to say about it though? It sucks.

Go USA? Oh frick, we're out of it. Eh, Happy 4th then!

Belgium just wanted to send our boys home just in time to celebrate.

But I'm still heart broken.

Obviously the SB is all that matters but curious what people would think and say if they had lost that SB in a close loss to Peyton.

We would have lost if he hadn't played a near perfect game with one of the best super bowl performances ever.

And while the defense deserves shite for SF, Matt Ryan is the one who let them get right back in the game with that fumble

Alex Smith ballin. Joe Flacco tho

Love seeing Drew's postseason success. Modern day Montana if he can get another ring (or two)

Brady and Manning numbers are always interesting to see. You'd think there would be a bigger discrepancy with the way Brady is seen as postseason legend while Manning is seen as a choke artist. Ridiculous.

Brees is the man, but god damn it Rodgers is good. I really hope we get to see a Brees Rodgers playoff matchup at some point (in the Dome of course ). No one does it better than those two imo.

The knock on Brees is his road losses (not always his fault) and his tendency to throw a lot of picks to get the team out of large deficits (another byproduct of a porous defense). The win/loss ratio is not his fault in the playoffs but unfortunately you can make statistics say whatever you want them to say.

He had the same interception rate as Manning and is 15th best all time

Also, that is clearly not the case in the playoffs

These things are fun and all, but trying to draw conclusions from such small samples is unwise at best.

And of course a lot of this involves team accomplishments/failures, both of which are heaped upon QBs more frequently than they should be.

The only questionable game in the playoffs for Brees was Seattle last year, but to be fair that weather was pretty bad and they had issues throwing it too.

The reason we lost to SF was because of the 5 turnovers we had while the defense kept us in the game and played reasonably well outside of the final drive.

Weren't two of them special teams fumbles? I mean yeah the defense "kept us in the game" but they also gave up close to 40 points and absolutely blew it on the last two drives

The final few drives you mean. SF put up around 200 yards in the fourth and scored on their last 3 possessions

You mean when Alex Smith threw 3 TDs and ran for another while Vernon Davis caught 7 passes for 180 yards and Gore averaged almost 7 yards per carry.

And the 49ers from 45, 80 and 85 yards on their last 3 drives to score each time, FG, TD, TD.

Defense!

You may need to think a little before you type and press submit.
