I'm genuinely curious.

Are you guys against ANYONE using the flag/anthem as protest for any reason?
Or are you against reform for police officers?

No, just against people kneeling like it will make a difference. Most of these dudes, dont really care about the root cause of these issues. They just want to protest with their buddies, but never do any real work to fix issues within the communities. Therefore, its a crap protest that has no weight and just pisses people off.

If they wanted to help, be a role model, show the young kids how a dad/adult is supposed to act. Show that having kids and leaving them with a single mother is a shite thing to do. Be an actual/real example. Kneeling is a bitch to way to say you tried.

How does that fix the police issue?

Trump could murder someone on tv and his dumb fanboys would still find a way to spin it. I lean more right than left but the dude is a joke for a president

I really don't understand why Trump is worth defending so stridently.

There's not a single American politician I would feel the need to defend on a compulsive level.
Although I did defend GW Bush a bit back in the day.

What exactly is Kaepernick even doing about this "issue" on a daily basis? Anything? All the news seems to be about him not having a QB job, not what he kneeled about in the first place..

He has given a lot of money away to charity.

Look he basically committed career suicide. If his goal was to get people to talk about it he was very successful. This is now spanning two seasons and it's hurting the NFL's bottom line before his supporters and detractors are both boycotting games.

I've never had a problem with his protest. I have a problem with how the issue is framed, because I don't think it's merely a race issue. Police have gotten way more aggressive. It's not just minorities being effected, and there are minorities in uniform that are guilty of excessive force.

That and wearing a shirt with Castro on it.

I disagree. Maybe a year ago it was about the police, but now it is merely about him. If he was still in the league, and still kneeling, I still believe the focus would be on him, not the police.

Most of these issue are later revealed to be justified in a court of law. This is because in most cases the media runs with a narrative that is proven to be false. So the initial story causes outrage and most people don't follow up on what is later discovered to be the real story. Saying that, we all know some cops do bad things; however, the protests are aimed at organized/sanctioned police brutality that does NOT exist. There is no national effort to protect dirty cops who get violent with black people.

If a cop goes to arrest an individual and that individual makes a sudden move toward his waistband I would assume that individual will get shot. Doesn't matter the race, he made a gesture that would make an officer think he was going for a gun. Doesn't even matter if we later found out he was unarmed. How is an officer supposed to know your just screwing with him? There is a responsibility on the individual to follow commands and not do anything that would be derived as threatening while another person has a firearm pointed in their direction.

These guys would make a bigger impact if they would start a media campaign educating people to comply and not do anything that would be perceived as threatening. Then if you feel that your were treated unfairly contact a lawyer and pursue legal action. That might actually help people not get killed and at the same time possibly revise police tactics in a positive way.
