Blame most of this on the fact that we suck arse at drafting.

Saints can work some contracts like they always do. The problem this year compared to previous years is this team is nothing short of awful, have many holes in many places and shifting money around isn't going to fix all those holes.
I don't know who's responsible for drafting but changes need to be made. If you want to be a SB team with this big arse contracts then you have to get cheap in the draft. We suck at drafting. We're better at finding undrafted rookies than drafted. I don't know if the scouts are doing their job and Payton/Loomis isn't drafting who they recommend...or what. Whatever may be the case, the GM/Payton should at least be held accountable for how shitty we're drafting. Loomis never struck me as a good talent evaluation GM.
We really suck drafting on defense but not as much on offense. Is that a coincidence? I don't think so. I believe most of the drafting on offense is coming from Payton who knows his shite. So I guess what I'm saying is I'm skeptical at how good Loomis is on whatever evaluations he does.

Bad analogy. It's more like borrowing money, pushing back paying it off as the interest builds while you spend that money on more important things, then paying off the entire debt once you get a chance to save up after taking care of the more important stuff.
