Interior O line followed by CB2 are the two biggest needs.

Oline and it's not even close. The only needs that rival it are another corner(possibly more needed) and a cover linebacker(possibly less needed).

If Bunkley stays then Dline is set. I don't see anyone coming in and replacing any of the starters (unless we get a stud DT in the first).

I don't remember where I saw it (I posted the link on here a few days ago) and Payton had what he considers our top three needs, in order:
1) CB
2) OL
3) "possibly a pass rusher"

The "possibly" part makes me think that the Junior uncertainty is a concern. This was before the criminal case was dropped, so it's looking a lot less likely that pass rusher is a major need.

Every year they have a list of wants, needs, and musts and those 3 were the musts so clearly we are going to address CB (in FA) and G/C (possible in FA and the draft).

I think you hit on the issue with Galette leading to him saying possibly a pass rusher. That may drop down to a want if he gets squared away.

O line. The offense actually controlling games and keeping pressure on the opponent is going to significantly more to bail out the defense than any d linemen addition that we can afford.

Absolutely. If Juneyah is good to go (I think he will be), then I say spend some FA money on a capable #2CB and focus on interior OL in the draft. We've been fantastic drafting at that position, so I have faith in the FO's ability to find capable starters. We really HAVE to find the interior OL in the draft since each of the C and OG FA classes are only two deep. The ILB FA class is even worse.

And I know that everyone is hoping for Maxwell, but I think that he's going to be a bit too pricey. Chris Culliver (SF) and Tarell Brown (Oak) both look to be cheaper, very capable #2CBs. A healthy Lewis and Byrd, Culliver, and hopefully a reinvigorated Vaccarro could make for the elite secondary that we thought we would have had last season. I know that Byrd didn't play well at all, but he was horribly misused. I'll place my confidence in his excellent first 5 seasons over his 4 shite games with us. Vaccarro needs to be banned from Red Eye, doe.

100%... if you're biggest concern is that your defense is going to suck, best to create a situation where we see the defense as infrequently as possible.

I agree!

I would rather have Maxwell but dont know if we can pull it off.

What about Cromartie? No one has mentioned him....

His deal will be similar to Maxwell's (maybe a bit less), but he's 4 years older. If we had a better cap situation, I wouldn't be against paying him for one or two great years and taking a solid cap hit in 3 years, but I'd much prefer have a guy to play out a 4 year deal (which would end right around when Brees retires).

there are more younger guys on the D-line. The O-line interior isn't necessarily old but we need a center for sure.

I think it says something that Goodwin played most of the time in 2014. I guess Lelito will get another chance. I remember noticing Goodwin getting worked over vs. Cincinnati. Did Lelito even play that game? I remember Goodwin got hurt but just can't remember what game it was. But I do remember thinking if Goodwin is playing that bad Lelito can't be that worse. Maybe it was a situation where Goodwin was having to play through an injury?

i think we need help more at ILB than D-line too. We need someone who can make some plays. The Saints haven't really had that since Vilma joined in 2008.
