Before the draft, I was thinking that it was somewhat likely that we wouldn't draft a pass rusher.
My thinking was that perhaps we already have pass rush talent on the team.
I know, I know, you can always use more pass rushers.
Among 4-3 DE's who played in 25% of snaps or more in 2012, Junior Galette ranked 19th of 62 by PFF, right behind Mario Williams and Julius Peppers.
In terms of pass rush alone, he ranked 14th...ahead of the likes of Cliff Avril, Osi, and Irvin.
Of 34 3-4 OLB's, Victor Butler ranked 7th overall in 2012.
His pass rush puts him at 9th.
I don't think Wilson played enough snaps to get a PFF ranking, but we saw that he made impacts on the field.
On the other hand, our two safeties were ranked 87th and 88th out 88 safeties overall.
They suck so hard its beyond belief.
Maybe we just went for the bigger need/gap.
I dunno; I'm not sure how I feel yet.
