What the attorney said is exactly how my friend saw it go down. She was shot first to stop her, not kill her and then the a-hole shot Will to kill him.

Some people are just trying to see it from both sides. At least that's what I'm doing. I'm not saying Hayes is guilty or innocent and same goes for Smith. But a lot of people on this board are saying Hayes is guilty until proven innocent.

Well until I see this witness testimony, you posting this doesn't mean anything to me.
But let's just go with what you said, then Hayes would be screwed.

Let's think about this, ok. The lawyer himself says Will Smith was between his wife and the car. So we know Hayes does not have a clear shot at Smith's wife. But he does have Smith in his eyesights. It's not far fetched that he just missed Will and hit the wife.
To the next point, he shot her in the leg, why? You say he wanted to kill her, why didnt he kill her after he killed Will? Oh, do you think he ran out of bullets? Well, they had another gun in the car? Why didnt he finish her off, and then flee, instead of staying around (with the wounded wife right there) and calling the cops?
explain all this
