Wow. I thought for sure Brown would be given every chance to start. But with this new attitude from Payton seems like all bets are off. He must really like him. Will be great to have some athleticism at the Tackle spot.

I think it's too early to consider anyone the favorite the start at that spot, as they'll all probably get an equal opportunity. Armstead has all of the physical tools to start day 1, he just needs to mentally adjust from d2 ball, to the NFL.

Well, I heard what he said. But I was looking at him the same way I was about Smith really. I thought it was just coach speak about "oh yeah, weere gonna have competition at every position...no one is given anything" etc etc. but the fact that Armstead has been running with the ones already this often is a great sign for him.

he said there was a HUGE HOLE at the OT spot or something along those lines.
