Maybe the Manning clan ????

The ignorance about the Saints is hilarious to me in threads like this.

Cooper could take all of his dad and brother's money and not be able to afford a quarter of a majority share of the franchise.

Also, frick the Mannings.

I have no idea if he would even be interested in being an NFL owner but I would imagine Jim Bob Moffett could afford it.

Maybe Bill Goldring, too, though I doubt he'd be interested.

Bill Goldring is by far the richest person in Louisiana with an estimated net worth of around 8 to 11 billion dollars but he is very quiet about his wealth and doesn't send in his numbers to Forbes so he isn't ranked. He owns the largest liquor distiller in the United States and the third largest in the world.

With all that said Ronnie Lamarque will throw his hat into the ring regardless of how he leverages himself.

And i dont understand why people think that Peyton or any of them want to buy the team or even can.

They are rich, but not NFL owner rich.

I wouldn't mind Peyton in an Elway type role.

I don't know how to feel about it. From a personnel standpoint I like the idea. But how will he do in regards to managing the cap/money issues? Is he the type that will delegate things he is not good at to others?

If they can get the money and keep the team in Louisiana i'm all for whoever does that.

The team will never go up for sale. It will be put into a trust and it will be the closest thing to the Green Bay situation possible, within the confines of the NFL's current rules of ownership.

Ronnie Lamarque doesn't have that kind of money. If we're talking car dealers Ray Brandt would be more likely.

To steal a Chris Rock joke, Ray Brandt would throw himself out a window if he only had Ronnie Lamarque money.

Regardless of the family in-fighting and turmoil, I can't see the Saints with anyone other than Benson

There are probably 20 teams in the NFL right now that would love to have Drew Brees and would probably trade for him, yet you (and other similarly dim-witted fans) find a reason to gripe about him. No, he's not as good as he once was but he is still very good. Get your big permed head out of your arse.

Maybe it has something to do with Archie publicly stating that if the Saints had the #1 draft pick, he would tell Peyton to return for his senior year (which he did anyway), or the way they forced San Diego to trade Eli to the Giants. I respect what Archie did for the Saints, and wish they could have put better players around him, but I've never pulled for Peyton or Elie.

The team will be handled by a trust foundation.

People who think it's just going directly to Gayle and she is going to run the entire thing by herself are retarded
