i think we could have made better use of our picks, but whatever.
i recognize it is ridiculously early, but not impressed with the grayson either. again.. i know it's stupid early to even make that judgement..
would have preferred we drafted early and often on guys who would actually be impact players for the now. we needed to score more, we need another big time receiver (love cooks tho) and giving up all those stats to carson palmer was embarrassing.. the defense needs help.

Who should we have picked?
(Late Night reply) Good question! Let's say everything we did up until the SuperBowl, was perfect. Since then, we've messed it up pretty darn bad. Let's play a favorite game... REDRAFT! CSP has said several times he wanted Jimmy Garoppolo in 2014. Imagine if we had spent that pick on him instead of SJB. Then not taken Peat in 2015 because we told La'El we'd take him in the 3rd! BOLD where the pick was good enough to make again. (Side Note, Antonio Brown would not have been the same WR here, and pre-crazy Greg Hardy would have probably been a better pick for 2010-158, but not adding him, cause F HIM). Eifert in 2013, with Gronk and JimmyG, because F YOU!

quote:Wait, the Saints front office purposely avoids LSU players?
Lael Collins was available the entire draft. Kwon alexander was avaliable until the 4th. The FO tries to outsmart everyone by avoiding LSU players instead of going with the obvious picks from a school that churns out NFL talent yearly.

Obviously it's too early to call him a busy without him seeing an NFL regular season snap yet, but I still am highly optimistic about the pick and I like the plan with him if it is to let him sit for a while and develop him. One of the biggest problems you see in the NFL these days is teams rushing picks onto the field because they were drafted in certain rounds. You see it more with quarterbacks because that's the one position that is talked about the most, but that doesn't mean all of the other positions don't need time to develop. Like someone noted, look at how it benefited Armstead. With all of the potential Peat has, you can compare him in some ways to Eric Fisher in Kansas City or Luke Joeckel in Jacksonville. Both of those top first round picks have not completely lived up to the expectations of their teams and probably could have benefit from some development on the sidelines.

I wish people would stop bringing up La'el Collins. The NFL told ALL teams not to draft him considering his circumstance. There was 0% chance that ANY team drafted him. You can't fault the Saints, b/c it was out of their hands. I guess you can fault them for not landing him as an UDFA, but that's about it. We didn't get him...tough shite.
