worst meltdown ever. Tulane blew it and then the saints lost because of the milking clock 3 runs up
The gut scenario that gets payton everytime

not my best moment. I didn't even take the river city relay that poorly

Criticism =\= not liking the saints. I think when people get that pissed it's because they're such huge fans.

The morons who like to show their #trufan colors and pretend they get a special backstage pass for praising shite performances always remind me of this one phone call I heard on Hap's Point After decades ago (probably before most of these humps were born). Some dumb broad called Buddy D. and said: "My six year old wanted me to ask why does Buddy hate the Saints?"

Buddy's response was something like: "Hate the Saints? Hate the Saints?!?!? Lady you're too fricking dumb to live." Okay, he didn't say that last part but he should have.

It is funny that one can say Brees is a great QB, but is clearly struggling and HE is making mistakes, and that is taken as "You had Brees and are some kind of idiot".

I also think it's funny that people automatically shift any blame Brees may deserve to other players. This is particularly the case with the WRs. It's not that Drew zones in on certain players and teams know it and play to it. It's that our WRs magically suck now and can't get open. Ignore the fact that several were open on Saturday and Brees forced it to a covered guy anyhow or underthrew it or to the wrong spot. It's the poor play of the WRs.

Home sick and just woke up to read this gem. Nice.

First, Chad, how loserific of you to put this together.

And anyone who says they "knew it would turn around in the second half" was just guessing because of the road performances lately. I said in a few of my posts that I hoped I was wrong, but that first half was atypical Drew road head woes.

I don't know if anyone has addressed this, but you're pretty dumb chad.

This is where you are showing your myopic view of Brees.

I'm not showing anything myopic. I'm giving facts about how drew has led this team back to lead even in poor performances on the road.

then you want to start lumping drew and payton's play calling all together.

quote:

Brees in the Saints 5 road losses averaged:

61.8% completions, 288 yards, 1.8 pass TD, 1.8 turnovers per game.

On top of that, his turnovers led to 8.2 points per game for the other team including 14 against the Rams, 10 against the Jets, and 7 against the Panthers.

In the end, Brees is a great quarterback, but acting like he plays great on the road is just silly.

A lot of Drew's mistakes this year all came on the road. Woopty WOopty dew.

yeah. I'm usually fairly rational and level headed during games. Doesn't make for great posting highlights

Wow. Are you really this stupid when it comes to football. So the guy has played poorly on the road all season, and you get upset when people are worried about it since the Saints have to play two more games on the road to get to the Super Bowl?

Sometimes you make it too easy Chad. Too easy.

no gogurt. i didn't post criticisms. I posted people going off deep ends. let me know when you're able to make a coherent intelligent rebuttal. Are you busy right now getting ready for life without payton and drew? Are you trading drew brees right now and getting josh freeman? Are you ready to piss on drew's contract and say he's not worth it to the franchise?

the whining about brees' contract during every fricking game has got to end.

there are a zillion worse 100 million qbs in the league now.. and brees was severely underpaid his entire tenure in new orleans and brought us a championship.

also most of the money is front loaded in the first two years of the contract.. so get the frick over it. the saints have now won 12 games this season.

Brees is arguably a top five all-time quarterback. If you don't want people to criticize his performance then maybe he should stop shitting the bed on the road, play up to his potential, and lead the Saints to the NFC title game.

it's completely fine to say he isn't playing well on the road.

but to go to the contract and bitch and moan every fricking week is absurd.

we should have won the fricking pats and panthers road game

You left out my favorite insane comment from the game thread:
quote:

Bree's is the problem of this team. All of you that say we wouldn't be hear with out him are crazy because we could have more players with his contract money.

His contract along with all the other QBs is going to hurt their respective teams in the long run, but that is besides the point.

You are comparing people frustrated in a game and calling them out when Brees plays a horrible half of football and then coming around and crowning him as amazing as if he brought the team back on his back with no help.

Some people are idiots, but having another idiot calling them out like he's some great perveyor of knowledge is just as pathetic. You do realize how pathetic you look with this whole thing, right?

Apparently not to Chad. He's busted my balls all day for saying that very thing. His only defense is a game from 2010

Agreed. Drew was the biggest bargain in sports until he got his most recent contract. He's still a top 3-4 QB in the league, and even if the Saints were paying him on pass performance, it's totally worth it IMO. They've had enough bad contracts recently...Drew's isn't one of them

saying he sucks on the road this year isn't dramatizing
